Totally agree. I?m still on the fence applying with them since I am ?further? along with the SCC sheriff process. Still waiting for the schedule your psych email like the others that interviewed on 4/12.

My anecdote: My livescan was completed on 5/11 so I uploaded the screenshot (with the ATI number) the same day. On 5/19 I got a text and an email for training. I would assume the current timeline would be slower.

    Hello,

Thank you for your patience while we revised our Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) process. I?ve included the required documents needed to apply for a CCW.

Please be aware that we have an unprecedented number of pending CCW applications and very limited staff available to process them. With that said, process times may take longer than specified in Gilroy Police Department Policy 218. Please also be aware that California is a ?may issue? state, which means the issuing agency has the discretion to decide whether or not to issue a CCW permit to an applicant.

The CCW process consists of 2 phases as described below:

    PHASE 1:

Review a copy of Gilroy Police Department Policy 218.
Submit DOJ CCW application BOF 4012.
Note: Although the instructions say to wait, go ahead and complete Section 7 and we will review it together.
Submit signed Informed Consent Release Waiver.
A color copy of current Driver?s License.
    Proof of residency.
3 character reference letters will be required from applicant.
A Dealer?s Record of Sale (DROS) / proof of ownership for each firearm to be listed on the permit.
An initial City of Gilroy permit fee of $20.00, made payable by check to the City of Gilroy, will be required from applicant.
A records check will be conducted by GPD.
When you have completed the above, please email the information to both john.ballard@cityofgilroy.org and lamonte.toney@cityofgilroy.org . The preferred format is .pdf. You may also deliver the packet in person. If you deliver in person, ensure the envelope is addressed to Sgt. John Ballard and Sgt. Lamonte Toney. Please ensure you?ve made a copy for yourself (records will not make copies).

Once your packet is reviewed and approved, you will be contacted for an interview.
You will be notified when to advance to phase 2.

    PHASE 2:

Live Scan fingerprinting (at applicant?s expense, approximately $120).
    DOJ Criminal History returned/reviewed.
CCW Psychological Interview (at applicant?s expense, not to exceed $150).
    Proof of safety training/ qualification.
If applying for a NEW Concealed Carry Weapon license, a minimum 8-hour firearms training course must be completed. Proof firearms safety inspection.
    Interview with Chief.
    CCW License Issued/ Denied.
All Fees paid (final City of Gilroy fee, $80.00)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you,

    John

I asked for an idea of how long it would take and he wouldn?t commit to any timeframe.

For those who had experience LiveScan, how long does it take SCSO to receive/process it? I did mine on 5/16, which is on the same day I took the psyche eval written test. Status shows that DOJ/FBI/Firearms completed on 5/18. However, I got an email from Permitium yesterday asking me to proceed with LiveScan. That means SCSO still didn't received the result. I wonder if something went wrong with the LiveScan, or maybe they rejected that since I completed the steps out of order?

They emailed me and texted me. The last text I got from them was the initial Permitium when I first placed my "Order"

The email is from "auto" which is easily missed and is titled "SCSO - CCW Next Steps"
