Thank you I will follow up this week. I did not finish the letters so I expected a delay and a message to finish them. I just want to make sure my application wasn’t lost. The letters I was given were very short I’ve asked to stretch them out a little. They also want reference contacts I need to see how they want those. Did your friend find out if they have to pay the $600 psych eval or the $200 that was in place when they applied?

Not sure how active this thread is, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I submitted my application, complete with references and contacts, just shy of four months ago. I was fingerprinted two days after submission. I've been calling weekly to try and get an update on my application, or at least a confirmation that they have it and it's complete but no dice. Am I premature in all of this or should I keep at it?Comment

With the website consistency I think traffic has slowed considerably on most of these threads. But for reference I applied the last week of December 2023, I called and left a message to follow up at the 1 year mark and no response yet. I would be concerned about calling too often and getting pushed down the pile but doing the opposite hasn’t helped either so there’s no clear route.Comment

Yes I am. I called at the 1 year mark then a month later. After a week they called back and did the zoom interview, I was approved and have the psych this week. The training will probably be next month with the scheduling. Seems to be smooth now.Comment

I submitted my CCW application and supporting docs to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff in mid December of 2024 and completed the LiveScan and fingerprinting shortly thereafter. The Permitium website continues to list it as in process. Yesterday I filed a Report with the Civil Rights Division of United States Justice Department at this URL:
https://civilrights.justice.gov/report/
This action was prompted by a Facebook Reel where Civil Rights Division Director Harmett Dhillon promised strong action against states who are violating 2A rights:

I encourage all those in similar situations to file reports as well. If enough of us complain, perhaps the Feds will break the log jam and strike down these and other unconstitutional practices here in California.Comment

Wouldn't you know it, but I got a call from the SBCS today, and they'll be interviewing my reference letter people soon. Each of those people requested a letter they could just sign, and the person I talked to today told me that the Sheriff likes something more than the boiler plate I supplied. He'll pass along to the Sheriff that my peeps requested the boilerplate, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens. He also let me know that there is a revised list of trainers available, and that the delay for the psych eval scheduling is down to a week or so. He also asked if I could set up a zoom meeting interview, and I told him I'd attended zooms before, but never started one. At least there's some movement, but I still feel like there are many hurdles in front of me still.
