I think that as long as you remain in San Joaquin County there won't be a problem. But if you don't want to rely on mere speculation, make a quick call these people for a definitive answer: https://www.sjgov.org/sheriff/ccw.html

Got my email: approved
***UPDATE***
Received email today- CCW has been approved- take the class, make appt to submit certificate and pick up my card. Taking the class this weekend. Oh yes! Thank you Sheriff Moore!
01/29/18- received call from investigator asking if any changes on address, work, etc. He said my app was going to be moved up the chain and to look for a phone call/email for approval in 2-4 weeks? (I can't recall- I was so excited to finally get a phone call- lol) He said don't take the class until that phone call saying to do so. He also confirmed the 3 firearms on my application. (I am rethinking at only putting 2- not sure yet)
05/10/17 initial application, live scan submittedComment

recently had friend apply and it was stamped "not for security work" or something similar across the permit. their employment wasn't mentioned during the interview process from my understanding but they are employed in that field.
has anyone else had similar experience.?Comment

I highly doubt that the applicants employment was not part of the interview. I know it was part of mine. It's also part of the application that must be filled out.recently had friend apply and it was stamped "not for security work" or something similar across the permit. their employment wasn't mentioned during the interview process from my understanding but they are employed in that field.

As far as I know, these permits are given out for self defense, not for security work. Not surprised they marked it up.Comment

Sorry, what I should have said was, getting a CCW for the purposes of using it FOR security was not brought up, nor was it the intention of the applicant.I highly doubt that the applicants employment was not part of the interview. I know it was part of mine. It's also part of the application that must be filled out.

It's been 50 days since the last entry was made on this thread. What is happening? With California's gun controls getting more extreme you would think that there would be more chatter on this thread. Does anyone have any news on the status of the application process? What about the renewal process? Don't be shy. Speak up!"Back off Lawman". (Chato)

The renewal process is the same as your initial application except that you pay less and the approval is usually less than 30 days as mine was.Comment

Does anyone have any information or experiences with HEIDA TRAINING in Ripon? My CCW is coming up for renewal soon and they are on the list of approved trainers/vendors by the SJC Sheriff's Office."Back off Lawman". (Chato)
