Another problem is that there are 2500 applicants in the Legacy database, before the online process started. We still have to get Issuance Appointments. These appointments are only on Fridays and are limited by a bunch of different things. Through some contacts and Private messages on Calguns, it seems like the 7th is the only Friday that opened for Issuance Appointments for the entire month of April. I could be wrong and I truly hope someone will follow up with a post informing that there were other days opened.

Unfortunately many of the Legacy database applicants have been checking in multiple times per day for months. The 16 hour CCW course is only accepted for six months before it expires.

Unfortunately for the online applicants, I really hope that catching up on renewals will allow more time for Issuance Appointments. There are a lot of people in front of the online applicants, the process is a lot more backed up than you realize.

Keep your chin up and stay with it
I got the 6 month experation after the live scan came back I think they changed it due to the bogg of back log and new system

Any new applicants with January initial meetings that get approval calls/emails, please report for other new-apps. Thanks.

Seeing lots of good movement for renewals and address changes.
Not much on new apps it seems.

Maybe is simply gives an error message that it's too early, which would be okay. What wouldn't be okay is if it gives the appearance of accepting everything and then eighty-sixes it with no indication of its action. Has anyone applied >45 out? If so, what response did the system give you?
I submitted mine 2/18 on a 4/22 expiration, so that is just over 60 days. I already have my renewal, so no issues at all.

Received autocall and email approval: 04/11/2017

Six days is better than than I could have hoped for, will pickup on Thursday.
Hopefully weapon modifications eventually become this quick.

All the discussion here had me very worried. Current permit expires 4/29.

I submitted my application on 3/22, thinking that I would be at least 45 days. So now I pick it up on 4/13, or 16 days before the original expires.

Must have done something right for a change. This is how the system should work. Great job Sac Sheriff's office.
I'd rather be lucky than good ..

    Awsome
Now if I can figure out how to turn of the kamalla Haris FB feed I'd be less angree

And I'm very interested in the last point about the cert for AZ. I hadn't thought about that. The CCW course at my gun club doesn't have a cert for other states, so I wasn't even thinking about that... yet. How does it work? If took the course from Shoot Train Retain, I'd get my CA CCW license, but how would I get the AZ license with that cert?

Taking the CCW corse before will just give you somthing to do wont really speed up the process.

    Good luck

I used Shoot Train Retain for Sacramento County it was 139.00 and zero for extra weapons plus a cert for Arizona which makes it a 34 state permit

I know it's risking the expense, but I'm thinking of taking my CCW class soon too. I was reading the info on the CCW start page and it says:
"If applying for a NEW Concealed Carry Weapon license, an 16-hour firearms training course must be completed within 180 days prior to issuance."
What this means is if I took the CCW class at the end of April, I'd have until the end of October (180 days or ~6 months) to complete the process and have my issuance, correct?
