///////Sarge, email them directly and ask them nicely. Seriously. I believe I emailed at ccw@riversidesheriff.org. I put this "Hello and good morning! I filled out everything in my application and sent it out for processing. I was wondering if I can do a live scan prior to the interview. If so please send me the pdf or application. Thank you! Have a wonderful day."
They emailed me back one day after, they didn't say anything but they attached pdf file for live scan. So, I did have my live scan immediately right after because I know they are backlogged. Im still waiting for firearms 4 weeks now. Best of luck.
Ok will do this morning ...
Thank you mobile for responding and sharing this valuable Intel.I promise
to get back on my results after emailing them myself after today..
Thanks a million MobileJoe1
/////////////////
UPDATE:

Another Update As of Thurs April 21 :
Well that did the trick friends
I sent a email early this morning at 4 am (I could not sleep cause i'm old ok lol) and received a response at approx 9 am with the live scan instructions form and the 'Request for Live Scan Service' form to be completed. After you complete the 'Request for Live Scan Service' the instructions states you must only call and make a appointment from ONLY one of the locations provided on the instructions.
I just called and made a appointment for Wednesday April 27 at 930 am.I was told on the phone they only accept Cash or Check of $10 .I was also told to arrive 15 mins early prior to the appointment time to allow for 'Check-in'.
Wanted to share as I had promised yesterday
Thank you MobileJoe1
* I am now off to drop off my one page 'Request for Live Scan Service' for at a local Sheriff Station.

No idea, All i did was submit just within the 180 day window and let it take its course. Don't think the qual has a shelf life within reason. You would have to email or call for an answer to that which you have done. I just got everything done and submitted all that was required at one time. Ducks in a row so to speak.--------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Everyone, I’ve been lurking for a while and just have a few quick questions. Firstly some background info…I have recently purchased a home in Riverside county (Jan 2022) and currently I live in LA while the home is being renovated, I had started my CCW process with the Los Angeles Sheriff Department back in Jan thinking I would still be a resident of LA for the remainder of 2022 however I am set to move into the Riverside home sometime next month. I haven’t changed the address on my DL just yet and of course I have utilities/on title for both properties..
OKAY HERES THE QUESTIONS… Am I to continue pursuing the LTC with LASD? ( I was a resident of LA for more then 8 years)… Should I start the process over in Riverside County? I read on a few post that the Riverside County sheriffs department likes to see you being a resident of the county for at least two years do y’all think my new resident status will have a significant effect on my approval? Is there anyway to cancel an application with the LASD if I haven’t received the interview go ahead? I really appreciate any feedback thank you!Last edited by GlockyCatt; 04-24-2022, 5:43 PM.Comment

I can't speak on anything LA County.
I was a resident in Rivco for 7 months before I got my CCW. I applied after living here for maybe 3 months.
Submit your app for a Rivco CCW now so you can secure a date for your interview. YES you do need a current DL with your new address, but no one is actually going to look for your paperwork until that interview comes so just make sure all of your paperwork is in order before then.Comment

From my understanding, they only encourage renewals to apply at 180 days because it helps during those periods when the office becomes impacted.
My timeline:
01/13/22 - Submitted renewal app with all required paperwork
03/24/22 - Telephonic interview, lasted 3 minutes and 19 seconds
03/25/22 - Received notice of renewal approval. My exp isnt until June so I have to wait til then to pick it up anyway.
Keep adhering to the 180 day rule. I think it helps buy them an excess of time so that there's no risk of lapsing during the renewal wait.Comment
