I am going to pick up my issued card tomorrow from Riverside. You can pick up issued card either palm desert or riverside as I read from email.

Ladies and gents! Grab a cold one and sit down! Cold one if your at home and if your out and about, virgin pina colada perhaps? You know what I am talking about. So... My day of Wednesday 6/22 went like this! I called to find out where the hell is my application at in the process. Granted that I am just waiting on the approval and it is day 4 after my firearms completed by DOJ. I made countless phone calls and led me to voicemails one after another. Finally, I talked to a nice lady at the department and transferred me to; you guessed it! up to the top Deputy Sheriff Searles. If you already know who he is, great! If not, he is the head of CCW unit. So... I talked to him saying that I have done everything the sheriffs wanted on my application and I asked if there is any information on my application in the process thus far. He asked me what is my name and birth for security so he can find my file. His response was, and I quote from him "DOJ has been known to hold the firearms backround due to unknown reasons. Most likely the understaffed clerks, prolonging the process or what but I dont know. A lot of the times we get a large lump of files of background checks from people who are complete at one time from the DOJ office to our sheriffs office. Again, I dont know why. However, I have your file and it is complete and straight to the point." He told me also that my file is the last file DOJ sent today and you are lucky. He said also that the background check is getting longer more to 3 months now. Now, he went through my application and said " your file is clean and your GC is well thought out" what ever that means, I hope that it is good. Further on he said that he will shoot it up to the Sheriff Bianco office and you will have a response soon. It may be today, 3 days from now or a week. As I was typing this response to you guys, I received a text, call and email saying it is approved. Yay! I dont recommend you guys pushing the sheriff office like I did. I was frustrated and nervous to see where my application is. Obviously being frustrated and nervous while carrying is not a good thing and no pun intended. What I got out of the call was, their efficient, Deputy Searles is a super nice guy and a pleasure to meet who is at the top of CCW unit. Most likely he is going to still run CCW unit when I file renewal. Last, I had my approval within an hour from that call. These guys are here to help. Im letting you guys know my experience and phone call from Deputy Searles and or hope for that matter.
