I have read that a SSE firearm cannot be used for Riverside. One of mine, G19, says it is a handgun and that it is 9 caliber. If blocked, then I will transfer to wife first. What a pain.

Do you mean like an AR pistol? As long as the pistol has been "registered" to you or your spouse, you can use that pistol.

The issue with RivCo and SSE is the caliber has to match the DOJ registration. I have a SSE on my permit, I did the pawn / retrieve to get the caliber corrected.

The problem is that if your G19 was DROS'd as a SSE, a records check by RSO will probably show that is a single shot,
                          .25 caliber, with a 10" barrel.

The good news is that Inland Jewelry & Loan in Riverside, is very familiar with how to remedy this situation.
The bad news is your G19 goes to gun jail for 10 days.
                          Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."

                          Luke 22:36-38 (somewhat paraphrased)

According to my Dros paperwork my SSE caliber is 9mm so I do not think I need to Dros it again.
