    Permitium LLC sells their online services and software, not consulting services for the client's software. In other words, they are not your contractor fixing your homegrown solution. They offer their proprietary software for rent. It's a complete different scenario.

    It's a clear design flaw, not really expensive to fix, creates much better UX and can be easily included into the next sprint. However, the companies, once secure the government contracts, forget about the competition and product improvements. That's why a good chunk of the government information systems is still based on the last century technologies.

    A third party vendor is running the administrative stuff. They don't have access to the agency's workload/staffing/planning. So the long date is input and the agency adjusts for their scale.

    April 12, 2022 - Initial Application, 2 forms for proof of residency, DL
    April 14 - Added additional requested information
    April 15 - Live Scan Initiated (CA/Federal Finished same day)
    April 22 - Completed/Uploaded Training (Was asked to do this before the interview, same with the live scan)
    April 30 - Interview/uploaded live scan form
    July 22, 2022 - Firearms completed
    July 23 - Paid for permit over the phone
