What happens if you have installed flat triggers that are OEM ?
Example Sig P320 RX with X5 flat trigger?
Probably a no-go as it changes it from its original configuration.

    Customizing Ur CCW

What about modular platforms such as Sig P320 or Sig P365? Can you swap out different OEM grip modules, OEM slides, etc.? The firearm part is the Fire Control Unit (FCU) but otherwise the other parts are compatible, easily sourced from Sig, and are designed to be mixed and matched.

A looser Glock analogy would be swapping out grips and slides for the 43, 43X and 48.

Who makes the decision if this is a go or no go?

    Thanks in advance.

As per Sgt Johnson of the OCSD, Grips and Sights are what are allowed to be changed. Otherwise, the way it was made, is the way it stays.

    Tell that to John172

I also used the same GC for last renewal(which worked then) and submitted additional documentation when asked. The Official Reason: ‘The requirement of good cause was not satisfied because it did not meet the criteria set forth in OCSD Policy 218, and/or was not supported by proper documentation’. If something changes for the better, I’ll give an update on here.

In any case, good luck to everyone on getting their permit!

True, but they didn't change their policies and I knew they would not. I applied, followed the procedures, used the EXACT GC statement that I did the last two times I renewed, and was approved without any additional documents needed to support my GC. Easy peasy!

Common sense? How does that tie into knowing how you’d be approved?

Sheriffs can change their policies on a whim if desired.

I have mine and I carry a P320 and was told by my IA and instructor it was fine multiple times. To be more exact I have a 320 Compact slide and a X-Carry and X-Compact grip although I use the Xcompact more.

    My timeline....

I submitted my renewal on 8/24/19.
    I expired on 9/29/19.
I picked up my renewal on 11/22/19.

Good to go for two more years. I submitted my training certificate with my renewal as I knew I would get renewed. I suggest all renewals do the same as it saves time. FYI, for anyone who thinks OCSD is being more restrictive in GC requirements you are wrong. They truly do want to issue. Thank you Sheriff Barnes for respecting and supporting the rights of law abiding citizens. We are very fortunate to live in a county with such a great sheriff!!

Posts for 2019 Jan 01 and following -- when the new sheriff took office -- start on p. 71 of this thread -- 9 pages of posts ago. If you could direct us to some of the posts you refer to, that would be much appreciated.

We, baggss and myself, depend on CGNers getting in touch with us re. the current status of issuance in their county. baggss even has his email address on the bottom right corner of the map so anyone who sees it and sees a mistake can contact him. If a county "goes south," and nobody tells us, we won't know about it.

This is another reminder of why joining county level organizations like Orange County Gun Owners PAC is so important -- no one cares about protecting your 2nd A gun rights in OC as much as you do (or ought to).
