Today Tuesday July 20th will be 6 wks since my interview and live scan... I remember my deputy telling me if I didn't hear back 6 wks after my live scan was submitted than at that time I should check in. He said sometimes applications are misplaced.
So if I don't get a response today, You think I should reach out? or give it 1 more week. I have not done training or anything else.. I'm following orders to the T.Comment

@Duwana,
I would disclose the call. Worst thing that can happen is you doing disclose it and it comes up on your live scan. You're 100% screwed if that happens.
@Lares,
Your actual submittals date be officially + two weeks.
Your check was cashed at the station, however your application might have sat at someone's desk for 1-3 weeks until a deputy remembered they had your application and they were making a trip downtown. So then they grabbed it and threw it in their passenger seat.
CCW unit is downtown. The only thing the San Dimas station does is transport your application on a magic carpet down to DTLA.
For timing reasons, I would say your application subbmital, made it to downtown is probably closer t 5/1Lockdown

I remember i posted in here that CCW usually takes 120 days to fulfill, well that is what I experience anyway with other states CCW, and I know some of you replied, no my wife/husband, uncle/aunt, friend/enemy, sisters cousin boyfriend, got it in 21 days, well he/she is lucky but real-world waiting time goes way beyond that. I know in Ventura County which is green GC usually took 10 months to fulfill back in 2017.Congrats! About 4 months between app and pickup. Hopefully not too far for me.
Hey for the livescan, we had a company called Helping Hands do our livescan at the training. Is all the information sent electronically by them or do I still have to do something with the paper application they left for me? For $120 I hope they take care of it all haha
If I were you, I would give them a call around Wednesday morning for an update, That would give them 2 more working days to look for it, they might forget about it over the weekend when you call them on Friday.Today Tuesday July 20th will be 6 wks since my interview and live scan... This was my CCW journey.
02/18/2021 - Application sent. Light Red/Yellow Good cause. Business owner. 02/24/2021 - Check cashed.
03/15/2021 - Application confirmed by a call from the deputy stating that he is working on my file.
04/19/2021 - Interview.
04/19/2021 - Live Scan sent.
06/08/2021 - Live Scan complete. Informed CCW unit it was complete with my ATI number.
06/15/2021 - Proceed with training e-mail. Sent the same day and was confirmed and completed.
07/20/2021 - Pickup. The official letter was dated for 06/28/2021.
The the CCW department decided to use my Ventura County business address instead of my Los Angeles County business address. Maybe because the lease was longer.

I think it happens more just on the location and how many deputies are working on files and interviews. I still have 2 friends in San Fernando Valley for 1st and 2nd week of April that have not received any calls.Congrats and thanks for this timeline. Goes to show us that there is no consistent timeline at all. Applied in February and just picking up now, wow.
EDIT: Is the general trend that the big moments of the process [interview, issue] happen mid month and if you miss that timeline, it gets bumped to the next "cycle" ie. month? Could explain for some the inconsistent timelines.
At the end of the day it is now just a wait game due to the volume of applications. Luckily I had a great deputy that gave me his direct number and email at the start and responded to emails in 15-30 minutes for any questions he needed to ask me or if I had any questions.

Your live scan took almost 2 months. Really slowed you down. Longest timeline reported so far. Congrats.LA County CCW HolderComment

I got all 4 of mine in under 70 days. I must be the luckiest SOB ever. The processing time is dependent on how many applications they receive during any particular period. In the beginning of issuance for La County people were getting theirs in under a month. As more people applied, times got longer.I remember i posted in here that CCW usually takes 120 days to fulfill, well that is what I experience anyway with other states CCW, and I know some of you replied, no my wife/husband, uncle/aunt, friend/enemy, sisters cousin boyfriend, got it in 21 days, well he/she is lucky but real-world waiting time goes way beyond that. I'm now at just over a month since my interview, and exactly one month since my live scan completed. No email for training yet, but it's not clear that I will get one since I already sent the interviewing deputy and the CCW unit my training docs on June 26 (but unlike what others on here report, they did not acknowledge receipt of mine)
I'll give it another month before I follow up. Don't want to get knocked down to the bottom of the pile for annoying emails LOL. Hopefully they were going to do the "proceed with training call" but they saw I had done the training already, and moved me straight into the final determination pile. Fingers crossed.sigpicComment

This varies by deputy, but ya, it's weird how at least one deputy appears to be annoyed when people get stuff done early. I don't get that at all. The deputy I interviewed with just said they can't ask people to do training/live scan early, but she didn't appear to care if people did so, so long as they knew denial was a possibility and the money spent would then be for nothing. If you are fine with that risk, then she didn't seem to care if you got stuff done early.
I told her at the interview I intended to take the risk and do the training early, and she said that's fine and to send her the confirming documents when I did.
I'm so glad I got the cool deputy lol.sigpicComment
