LASD was suppose to...but not a single call went out this week...

That must be it. Shows over boys. Shut it down.

Congrats to 1200 people, including me, that got permits.

It was good while it lasted.

I know you are kidding, but I would seriously not put it past Villanueva to reverse course if he ever came to a deal with the politicians he is beefing with.

Damn I'm so close! Let me in!!!!

I wonder if they are holding off on new interviews to clear the backlog of pending apps? Dunno, just a thought.

Maybe they are regrouping, trying to streamline the work. Maybe have a civilian handle some if it. Not sure why you need a Deputy to open the envelope, cash the check, check the application, gather any paperwork or run for warrants or the firearms listed on the app. You really only need a Deputy to look at the completed application and associated paperwork, see if there are red flags, then schedule an interview. After the interview, hand it to the civilian to check on the LiveScan, if it is good, have the Deputy initial it, have the civilian send out the go get your training email, and gather up the return email with the copy of the training certificate. Seems like the Deputies are doing a lot of clerical work that a civilian could do.

Went for my interview today. In and out in 15 minutes. Reviewed my application, brief history, and a short yes/no questionnaire.
Deputy confirmed only 7 deputies working the CCW unit. 4 conducting interviews, 3 on the backend with processing approvals/denials. Plus 1 lieutenant doing final reviews

Stated interviewee's files are transferred downtown the week after the interview is conducted.

Provided livescan form, but stated to hold off on training until they receive results. He could not comment on doing training beforehand.

Livescan done about an hour after my interview, and I will be doing my training this Saturday. on the fence about submitting the training doc as soon as complete or wait for the communication on the livescan.

Per my interviewing deputy, 6-8 weeks from this point until issuance or denial.

He did mention that LASD does not give a crap about what the livescan application status website says and they wait for communication direct from DOJ. All the email inquiries they receive slow down the process for EVERYONE because that takes a body away from processing the paperwork to respond to the emails.

For the livescan tracking, was it available for everyone same day as the scan? Just checked on mine and states "application transaction not found please contact issuing agency" hopefully it just needs some time to get into the system?

I did my livescan around 11 am the day of my interview. when I checked the site around 4, it said FBI and DOJ had cleared. Firearms cleared the next day.

This sounds like the same guy someone said last week was saying they'd deny people who email too often. Hate that our rights are in the hands of bureaucrats. But I am glad the deputy who interviewed me was much more pleasant and actually encouraged me to email her with any questions. (Don't worry, I'm not abusing that, I've only emailed once to send over my training docs early)
