Better late than never. Applied last night, and this morning I got an email from Casey tarribilini to do live scan at Pack and Mail Express.
I could have gone today, but they’re close for the holiday.
Has everyone else went to this place for their scan? How long did it take you guys? I message them on their FB page, no appointment needed, but with the number of people applying for ccw, I’m thinking I may be in there for a while?
    Thanks!

I don't think it wil lbe that big of a deal now. I went there the morning after the first wave of post-Bruen applicants got notified to go there. There were about a half dozen guys ahead of me in line, all there for the same thing. I was in and out in about 40 minutes. I think it will be faster now. Just try to avoid their rush hour periods, like lunch time.

Thanks guys! I plan to swing by tomorrow after dropping my daughter to school. The guys at Pact/Mail did say they've gotten busy these past weeks, but it only takes 10 minutes.... I guess he meant the actual live scan process, not counting the waiting time.

Just make sure to check the paperwork when done. When they gave me mine, the lady forgot to sign the copy and didn't give me the ATI# which you need in order to give to the Sheriffs office.

I did my live scan at the UPS Store at El Camino & Hopkins. Despite what the email says, I experienced zero delays in the process. Scanned on 7/6 approved on 9/1.

Oh yea, the email now says you can do it at any live scan location. It's just that $111 of the $118.64 you paid to submit your application is supposed to be for an in-house live scan at the Sheriff's Office, but now they outsourced it to P&M. At P&M, you won't have to pay anything out of pocket. If you do it elsewhere, you will be responsible for any additional cost that may incur. I'm thrifty, so I would rather not pay twice for something.

Used P&M a month ago, one person in front of me, and I was out of there in 10 minutes with a perfectly completed form (parked right in front too).

It should be quick and easy now.

My friend is in SMC, too. I have not heard back yet. Perhaps after the long weekend today I will hear. I recall something that a decision must be issued by 30 days after the completed livescan results, but I do not have a cite for that. If true, today is my 30 days.

F.Y.I. - I submitted my livescan on July 18th and haven't gotten a decision, so you will probably be waiting past 30 days.

                        Although my background says:
CA completed 7/18, FBI completed 7/18, and Firearms completed 8/10, I contacted the county by email and they said they still need to finish my registration, interview and background check then move into the chain of command for review decision. Following that I would get scheduled for mandatory training and qualification process. Also, remain patient.

I think you're referring to this.

                          PC 26205:
The licensing authority shall give written notice to the applicant indicating if the license under this article is approved or denied. The licensing authority shall give this notice within 90 days of the initial application for a new license or a license renewal, OR from the Department of Justice, whichever is later. If the license is denied, the notice shall state which requirement was not satisfied.

The PC says 30 days after receipt of your background check. Using tr/328 as an example. Since their live scan was fully completed on 8/10, the SO would have until 9/9 to make a decision. But that's only if it has already been over 90 days from when you submitted your initial CCW application. I'm not sure when tr/328 applied but even for those who applied on 6/23 (the date of the SCOTUS decision), the SO will have until 9/21 to make a determination at the earliest.

I guess no one got notified today or yesterday?

                              Had my interview today

I also applied within days after the SCOTUS decision, got the livescan an did the interview via Microsoft Teams today. The interviewer was friendly, but seemed perturbed with the number of applicants that he is processing. Also indicated that I had a "domestic disturbance" report on file from 26 years ago. I said I didn't know what he was talking about and went to SMPD to get the "report" since he asked me to request it and send him a copy. They refused to give me the report. So now I am waiting for him to request it. He said he was not deciding on who gets permitted, but sounded like he is still old school in favor of denials, citing reason could be "not good moral character", but he could not define that. I think they will be getting some lawsuits if they behave in such a nebulous way.

I thought the disqualifying factors only went back 10 years? Boy they are really reaching
