As for ADHD, no need to report it unless it is considered a "mental illness".
Thank you! However I should have been more specific: I take Adderall for my ADHD which is a controlled substance.

    Sorry about that.

Unless you are addicted to it or have been in the past, no need to disclose it.

The weapons section of their CCW page states:
"Firearms which have been modified, including modifications to triggers, slides, safety mechanisms, and magazine releases are not approved."

Doesn't sound like their list is saying ONLY those modifications are unacceptable, they're giving examples of what a modification is. IMO, frame stippling would fall under a modified firearm.

Specifically, if I'm being treated with a medication, where should I disclose that on the form? My two guesses were either the section asking about anything that could potentially deny you or the section regarding controlled substance use. However, I don't think the controlled substance one is applicable because I'm not addicted or under the influence of the medication, it is not an illegal substance, and I have not been involuntarily committed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Based upon the HIPPA laws, you have no obligation to disclose and the Sherrif is not allowed to ask about it. If you disclose it, he will probably deny you because he is looking for any reason to not grant a CCW. Do not disclose as long as you are confident that you are capable of carrying, without incident.

HIPAA does not apply in this case. Patients have full reign on what medical information they would or would not like to share and with whomever they want.

However, something for OP to be aware of, is on Page 5, Section 4 of the CCW application (BOF 4012) it does stipulate that:
"While exercising the privileges granted to the licensee under the terms of this license, the licensee shall not, when carrying a concealed weapon: Be under the influence of any medication or drug, whether prescribed or not."

Not advising one way or another. Just putting it out there for consideration.

Thanks for the replies! I read that and under the influence does not apply because I am not impaired to any degree because of the medication. If I was, I wouldn't be able to drive and such. I think it's more so if you're taking a prescribed narcotic that impairs your mental status.

I don't think any doctor would write a note stating that I'm mentally fit for fear of being liable if something were to happen. I do think it would be a good idea, but ultimately I wouldn't be able to get such a note.

I'm still at a loss as to what to do as PC 26180 makes it a felony to knowingly omit information on the form.

You wouldn't be omitting information as disclosing your use of a controlled substance (Aderal) is not required unless you are or have been addicted.

Just wait until you find out the 2-year renewal starts when you paid the fee- not when you get your permit. I don't know that to be true, but at this point not much would surprise me.

And there can't be a backlog of people who have qualified. Since Ron J got his permit, maybe what, 15-20 people qualified, including Rclarkgo and my group. They didn't do quals Christmas or New Year's weekend and they got washed out the June 6/7 weekend, and we qual'd the 1/13-14 weekend.

Does someone have the contact info for the reporter? We are in a shell game now.

Was also in your group, also no call/email. I suppose if/when we get the permit, we should start our renewal paperwork quickly, as it may be a 2 year process for people filing anything today.

The country is just prolonging the process, until Newsom and his acolytes could resurrect a tone down version of last year's failed SB 918 to restrict our freedom.
