when i was 17 i was informally arrested "arrested and released to my parents" for having a concealed derk/dagger. i had a fixed blade knife with about a 2" blade on my waste band that was not exposed, i was at fault and did not know the laws, had it been completely exposed it would have been legal. another driver had called the police thinking i was a drunk driver, when really i just didn't know where i was going and my friend in the passenger seat was giving my directions. anyway, no one was drinking but she called us in and when we got to where we were going a police car showed up, asked us questions, told them i had a knife and that was that. i completed my 6 months probation and 40 hours community service that was issued by the court.

additionally, some time after i turned 18 a girlfriend and i had broken up. i was at a friends house when my friend noticed that my ex girlfriend was putting shaving cream all over my car. i ran out the front door and yelled HEY! they started running and i chased after them. when i caught up to her i got in front of her and stopped her with my hands on her biceps/lower shoulders. didnt hit, strike etc, just asked what the F*ck are you doing? words were shared and i went back to the house and called the local police so i had some sort of report incase there was any damage to my car after i went and washed it. there was also eggs and plastic wrap but they hadn't gotten that far. some time goes by and i get a letter in the mail that i need to go to court for this incident. well, my ex gf's step dad was an attorney, and he had taken the girls down to the local police dept. to fill out a police report, the district attorney took it from there. i went to court for charges of assault and battery and ended up taking a 4 hour anger management class.

just wanted to share some of my history with you guys after getting my approval, it may put some minds at ease, my incidents of course will differ from others, not sure if my age of them helped me, or the fact that i completed what the courts asked etc. but i just figured id share.

side note, i did put all of this on my application, i couldnt go into as much detail as i did here, however i knew they would see all of this anyway. i just made a note on my application that if they had any questions regarding any of this to please reach out to me.

wow so many of us had our apps approved today.

looks like from prior people in the process, once you provide your course completion paperwork, it still takes several weeks to be scheduled for the qual! hopefully sooner, but we will see what happens.

Add my name to the list of people with approved emails. I've already done my training, so I'm hoping to get my range qualification asap

Wondering if the new bottleneck will occur at issuance after qual. Should be easiest part but...

How did you submit to your training information to Sherriff's office to sign up for certification...snail mail or email?

I scanned and emailed. I think they move more quickly with email

Congrats everyone! Hoping my app is coming up for approval soon, I submitted and livescans all received earlier than these. Really makes you question "the order in which they are received". Stoked for you guys though! A little jealous, but definitely more stoked.

Same, scanned and emailed. They responded that it was received, and no update on approval.

Same. I shot at the 8am session on Jan 13 and have heard nothing back. I had the CZ P01 and M&P Shield
