FInd an approved vendor, make an appointment to qualify with the new permit. The approved vendor will add the firearm to your permit and take care of all the paperwork. At least this is what I was told.

3 firearms is what we are allowed now.

Haven't you gotten an update? I just completed mine recently, curious what's the current timeline after pysch.

I got my "Passed Pysch, move to Training" email the same day I did my Pysch exam. However, judging the most recent replies here, they have significantly slowed down. This was back at the end of August for me:

          Applied: 7/12/22
          Interview: 7/11/23
          Livescan: 8/1/23
          Psych: 8/29/23
          CCW Class/Range Qual: 9/16/23 - 9/17/23
          Permit pickup: 10/4/23

we have pretty close application and interview dates, but it took 3 months to get a livescan after my interview and I have been waiting for psych for 5 weeks now.

At this point I am convinced that it is, it literally takes them months to move through just 50 numbers in the queue....

Three firearms allowed now on first permit. I believe that it is the state as well.

Submitted my Qualification Certificate on 10/16 and got the email last night (11/28) to pick up the permit 11/30. Email noted there are 80 people in this group. So from application on 7/22/2022, it will have been 16 months and a week. But it certainly looks like things are slowing further and who knows what happens when first requals start rolling through next year. Wish it was still the 2 years between recerts.

Submitted my application just passed midnight on 7/23/22. I'm at least a month behind you in the process. Just scheduled training

Wow - just a one day difference! They do work in batches so there's going to be a cutoff that just unlucky sucks for some people. I think I was just after a cutoff for the final stage given it took 6 weeks from qualification for me to get the actual permit.

I will say from my interactions that I think the ACSO staff is actually quite supportive of qualified people getting their CCW permits (can't say for the Sheriff and we know the politicians' stances), but the staff are certainly understaffed for the current volume. Maybe there's a natural leveling off point in demand which will help them to handle renewals and changes more easily as the number of wholly new applicants slows. But with over 3000 on the list now that's not going to be anytime soon…

                            Modular guns on your CCW

Recently learned before going to training that you can qualify up to 3-guns on your permit. Had no idea but wanted to see if anyone knew what the policy was modular gun platforms like Sig P320 or even Glock 34/17. Where you can have the same frame but different slide configurations and barrel lengths based on preference.

Does anyone know if you need to qualify for each combination or if say you qualify with a Glock 34 and later on want to put on a Glock 17 slide assembly - will that cause an issue?

                            Thanks!

It's well over a month since my LiveScan on 10/28 and I have not heard squat since.

That's got to be a question for the ACSO because imagine qualifying with an 8 inch barrel and then switching it to one that's 2 inches (with which you might not be able to qualify) and then getting into a self defense incident. That's an extreme example, but since this is for a CCW, anything that's discrepant to your permit might be an issue. Maybe they'd have you make the swap in the field and then additionally qualify with the other config. Only they can advise you on this.

During our safety class we discussed that A/C doesn't have an issue with changing sights or adding red dots, and presumably doesn't have an issue with making the grip fit better/safer (like backstrap changes), but we were advised that for CCW, we should avoid touching the trigger, barrel, slide, etc. from stock as it only gives a prosecutor something to potentially use against you, even if it doesn't seem rational. So I'd suggest reaching out to ACSO and then appreciate you reporting back here what you learned for everyone's education. Thanks!
