Been catching up on the threads here but wondering if anyone in the July submission pool has started any part of the application process. Curious as I have applied 7/11 but have heard absolutely nothing but hoping I'm not too far behind.... (wishful thinking).

Would appreciate if anyone in early July submission can share their progress. TY.

Thought I saw a post on the last page where someone put their application in on June 27th and has not had the interview yet. You can go back a page to see if I read it correctly.

If you get a malfunction, you need to clear that malfunction and continue with their qualifier. Just like real life you need to get yourself back into the fight. You've got plenty of time given to you to get through it.

Apparently they can just ?qualify ? with Larry on his simulator and this won?t be an issue. I had a stovepipe I had to clear on my qualifier and was able to do so and fire off my remaining shots in time but we had one guy who was unable to pass the qualifier after two tries. Again, I loved Larry?s class but if you can qualify with a simulator using a modified G17 that ?shoots? lasers and had minimal ?recoil? and will never throw you a failure to fire then why do others have to qualify with each gun they want on their license with live fire on an actual range? This makes no sense.

Larry is awesome. I took the same 8 hour class back in February but here?s where I am confused. I still had to shoot a qualifier at the ACSO range with each gun I wanted on my permit. Larry?s simulator is great, especially for shoot/no shoot training exercises but how does that count as a qualifier shoot since you aren?t actually shooting your own guns?

Larry demo?d his set up for the ACSO and its GTG. I believe this is in conjunction with the decision to use private firms to deliver the required classroom and qual work. Security Six was listed on the approved vendors list that Judea just sent out to applicants passed on to the qual phase of the permit process.

Applied 6/25 and had interview in November then nothing. No reply to any emails until my attorney reached out. Judea said a number of applications " fell through the cracks" as the interviewing deputy went on maternity leave. Was told that these would be picked up in turn but 2 months later still nothing. Judea w9nt reply to my emails, voice message or to my attorney. Either complete incompetence or disdain that my attorney contacted them. A complete joke! Do you think I should file an officer complaint on Judea?

You?d probably have to sue the sheriff herself. Judea, I believe, is a civilian employee, not a sworn officer. Talk to your attorney.

Classroom and Range Qual today

Hi folks. I completed my mandatory classroom and range qual today. I chose to use Larry at Security Six in Hayward. Larry?s program runs all day on Wednesdays. Your classroom and qual are all completed in one day. Instead of the typical live fire range Larry uses a state of the art shooting sim room and co2 driven pistols that simulate the felt recoil. What?s really nice is that you get to see your poa vs poi when the session is over. Very insightful as far as improving your marksmanship. As a bonus Larry ran us through a few law enforcement scenarios. Not a video game at all. Sadly, I accidentally shot a hostage in one scenario. Ooops. If you can make a Wednesday work I highly recommend Security Six. I?ve sent my credentials to Judea. Hope for permit pickup next month. :harry
