So what? Not following your point. When it passes it will take years and years to overturn. You have your chilonies all wadded up about still not receiving your Alameda permit and call the legislators in Sacramento stupid? Who?s the stupid one here when they’re getting what they want and you’re being denied your constitutional rights?sigpicComment

It?s not going to take ?years and years?. Bruen laid out a new standard for review of Second Amendment cases based on text, history and tradition. There is no longer an intermediate scrutiny balancing act. Yes, it will take some time to work its way through the lower courts but ultimately should be resolved in our favor. You are very combative and accusatory in your comments on here even attacking my character because CRPA didn?t reach out to me as a potent plaintiff despite the fact that CRPA had admitted on here to not getting back to everyone and it not being a reflection of the individual. I will get my ccw eventually here in the upcoming weeks and I am not happy about the delay but I?ve waited this long and I can wait a little longer. Eventually I will leave this state for a free state but I have my reasons for staying for now as others do as well.So what? Not following your point. No, it will take multiple years for a case to work its way to its final disposition. The courts are very busy and appeals take a while especially in CA where the first appeal to the ninth circuit goes to a three judge panel and CA inevitably requests an en banc hearing if it loses. CA can also request for extensions of time to respond during each stage of the proceedings. If it loses again, it may be finally appealed to the Supreme Court. This process takes years. CA knows that it's a delay tactic and gives them time to pass yet another bad law in defiance to any negative decisions. Your tax payer dollars at work. It?s not going to take ?years and years?. I've reached out several times via vm and email and have received no response. I am a little skeptical of ACSO's report to CRPA that 55 are scheduled for pickup this week when no one here or on reddit has reported receiving a pickup notification yet.Comment

Update - the pickup notice just went out to 55 people.Comment

hi all,
new member here.
the site search is not working therefore i post the question here.
I live in Bay Area, alameda county.
What should I put as the good cause? or is it already determined that we do not need a good cause for CCW?
Thanks in advance for your reply.Comment

The email instructions are somewhat confusing. Do we pickup at their Dublin office?Comment

Yes. Same place you had your interview with the deputy.
You'll check in at the kiosk in the lobby the same way you did with your interview. They'll come down and get you and bring you up to the office and you'll get your permit. Took maybe 15 minutes and was in and out.sigpicComment

The email instruction said the permit is available for pickup after 1:00pm tomorrow but to email a date and time to pickup and that is confirmed unless she emails back otherwise? This is confusing. I am not available until next week so do I just pick a date and time next week that I would like and ask for it? And no reply would mean it is confirmed?Comment

I get that but it won?t matter what the Ninth says if the same provisions in SB2 that are also in the CCIA get struck down first. It?s already in the Second Circuit and losing party will file for cert so it will already be on its way to Scotus before anything comes out of the ninth on a separate challenge to SB2. Same principle as in Bruen. A NY law struck down by scotus would have nationwide implications. No, it will take multiple years for a case to work its way to its final disposition. Thank you. I got a response back and am all set for my pickup. I noticed from the email that while there are 55 permits being issued this week that it doesn?t state how many are new versus renewals or modification. It would be good information for Kostas and CRPA if they were provided with a breakdown. When I took my qualifier I believe I was only one of two new applicants and the reset were renewals. The point being that if there is a backlog of 2000 or so applicants it?s going to be a long time to clear that queue at this pace.Comment

Applied 6/25 and had interview in November then nothing. No reply to any emails until my attorney reached out. Judea said a number of applications " fell through the cracks" as the interviewing deputy went on maternity leave. Was told that these would be picked up in turn but 2 months later still nothing. Judea w9nt reply to my emails, voice message or to my attorney. Either complete incompetence or disdain that my attorney contacted them. A complete joke! Do you think I should file an officer complaint on Judea?Comment
