Yes, according to their website. But, City management and PD is in shambles, Chief is resigning, sp who knows if any of that will change whenever the next person fills the spot.

APD no longer accepting CCW applications. Need to go through CCSD.Comment

Bump to this thread. I was just looking at the CoCo Sheriff website regarding CCW and it now says Antioch residents must apply through Antioch PD, and they provide a link to APD's website, shown below. The website states they are not yet accepting but they are working with Permitium, and City Council is scheduled to discuss fees and whatnot on 1/24/25 and would go into effect on 2/13/25, at which time they will then open the website and begin accepting applications.
One thing to note is that if you are an Antioch resident and already have your CCW from the Sheriff, you can continue to renew it through the Sheriff.

Got ours through APD and it expires in SEPTEMBER so we will just renew application when they start accepting again.Comment

How was the process for you, fairly quick and easy? Did they require 3 references (friends/family) to be interviewed about you and if so, did they interview them in person or over the phone? How about range qualification, did they accept a qualification done during the CCW training class? Thanks for your time!Last edited by bonzai272; 12-31-2024, 10:03 AM.Comment

Ours was a renewal. Have had the CCW for a number of years. Range requalification was done at the PDs indoor range. I don’t remember the exact total of shots fired (40-45 per pistol ? ) ranging from 15 yards down to 3 yds. Reloading required during some of the distances.Comment

The sheriff’s CCW page now says if you live in Richmond, Concord, Pittsburg or Antiochapply through your city’s police department.
San Ramon PD is issuing CCWs. https://www.sanramon.ca.gov/our_city...ice/faq-police Email the PD at police@sanramon.ca.govfor more information.
Pleasant Hill PD is issuing CCWs. Contact the Investigations Bureau Sergeant Christopher Anderson for information (email: canderson@pleassanthillpd.org)
If the sheriff spins off Walnut Creek and Brentwood that will really unburden them because then half of CoCoCo’s population will be applying through their local PD.👍 1Comment

Holy cow, talk about extortion! These are the fees Antioch PD is proposing for their CCW program:
The following fee structure for CCW license fees is being recommended to replace the existing “Gun Permit Fees” within the Master Fee Schedule:- $261.50 – New Permit Initial Fee
- $261.50 – Issuance Fee
- $455.00 – Renewal Permit
- $64.00 – Amended Permit
- $30.00 – Duplicate

“because any permitting scheme can be put toward abusive ends, we do not rule out constitutional challenges to shall-issue regimes where, for example, lengthy wait times in processing license applications or exorbitant fees deny ordinary citizens their right to public carry. ” N.Y.S. Rifle & Pistol ***'n, Inc. v. Bruen (2022) 597 U.S. 1, 39, fn. 9
Consider also. Subdivision (b)(1) of California Penal Code section 26190 imposes fees on those desiring to exercise their Second Amendment right to carry firearms in public for lawful purposes, such as self-defense. The question is does this violate the federal constitution? The simple answer is yes. Since McCulloch v. Maryland (1819) 17 U.S. (4 Wheat.) 316, the United States Supreme Court has held that “the power to tax involves the power to destroy.” (Ibid.) Accordingly, across a wide variety of constitutional rights, the United States Supreme Court has made clear that “[a] state may not impose a charge for the enjoyment of a right granted by the Federal Constitution.” (Murdock v. Pennsylvania (1943) 319 U.S. 105, 113.) This is exactly what subdivision (b)(1) of California Penal Code section 26190 does.Comment

Looks like Antioch website is up and running now to accept applications. In addition to what CoCo Sheriff requires, it indicates requiring 3 references, psych eval, and reviewing your online social media.

How does someone go from the PD’s homepage to your link? I couldn’t find any mention of CCWs on the PD website. There was no search function either.Looks like Antioch website is up and running now to accept applications. The Police Department and its officers work hard to serve and protect the community. Here you can find helpful information about their initiatives, divisions, and more.
