Hey calguns! Just wanted to make this thread because on the Antioch PD website is looks as though Antioch PD is Issuing CCWs!

I can’t imagine why anyone would prefer APD over CCCSO

Let’s see: (1) 5 non relatives as references asking them if you should be allowed to carry.

(2) Psychological testing/screening as outlined in PC 26190(f) at your expense

(3) List of all your social media accounts and usernames.

How many guns on the permit? Are lasers, lights, RDS allowed? Modifications?

Dont forget this requirement also: three recommendation letters from persons that have known you a minimum of five years.

These are Deffinetly awful requirements for the APD CCW but non the less it’s still an option and if someone has experience we’d love to hear their story. And i would like to know if they allow all Pistol types and if they allow Attachments such as Lights, lasers, etc. and if they can push out a CCW faster than CoCo County then it might be the better option. Non the less, Psych evals for CCWs should be illegal just like good cause. It sucks that APD requires it but maybe public pressure can have them remove it but only time will tell.

If i lived in Antioch and APD let you have 1911’s, Single Action Only semi autos and pistol modifications i’d rather go through them than the sheriff’s office. I mean with that many restrictions and unknown waiting times that could take a year to process i’d rather go through the BS process APD has.

But i would like to know the APD’s CCW benefits/ detriments before i would make that decision.

It does look as though APD only allows 2 guns on your CCW which is a bummer.

With the manpower shortage in CoCo County Sheriff Department CCW Office, I cannot imagine that Antioch PD would be better with 1/4 of their force on admin leave.

In the past, $100 payable upon receipt of permit. I?ll find out next Monday what it is now.
