I sent email together with my co-worker 1/30/23. Not him nor I received any respond for 4-5 days. So, I called to check and sure enough my email wasn?t received, they put me in line based on that call. 3 hours later my co-worker received email about he was put in line. So, if I didn?t call, they will never put me in line.

I would recommend reaching out to the gun unit after you send the first email (whether by phone or email). LAPD responded to my second email, but not my first. I used mail tracker to see if they looked at my emails, but it still shows as unread, probably because they have their own software to not disclose if the emails are read.

The detective that did my ccw said he had 800 applications he was dealing with (and that was back in late January). I'm sure there are others handling the ccw, but his share was 800 and he seemed a little overwhelmed.

Just got my call! Have an interview at the end of July.

They reportedly have three or four officers doing five interviews each per day but they only do the interviews on Monday. I guess that explains why they are scheduling interviews for over four months from now. If anyone has had an interview scheduled for a day other than Monday, feel free to point out this info is out of date.

This is the reason I called-because I didin't get respond within 5 days. But now I am for sure in the list. Who knows how long it will be before they will call. Hopefully there is will be some change-more officers assigned to this, people drop due to the $$$, other things.

Let's do simple math:
Four officers do five interviews a day, two days per week. 40 interviews per week. Comes out roughly 2000 people per year. 2000 people X $268=half a million dollars business. If they smart enough-the can do Mill easy.

I sent my e-mail to LAPD on 2/21 and got a response on 2/23 saying there's approx. 1,600 people waiting to be scheduled for an interview.

In 20 days 100 people. So about 300 days everyone here should have appointment.

Was called by a wonderful young lady last week who was incredibly nice and professional. She is a civilian employee working for the LAPD.

I was offered multiple Dates/Times for a CCW appointment in April. My waiting list date was mid-November of last year, was called mid-March of this year and have an appointment next month!! So, a total of 5 months from wait list to appointment for me.

I also inquired about current wait times for a phone call and was told that if you get on the LAPD CCW list right now, it's currently a 1+ year wait and that the LASD wait for a call is currently 2+ years!!

Just got the call from the officer to let me know that my CCW permit is approved and I can proceed to training. I already did my training last month, about a week after my interview. She said to send her proof and that the next permit pick up date is 4/11/23.
