I apologize to admin if this comment is out of place, but we live in a state that appears to have counties which can legally act as thought they are separate entities. A state regulation or law is just that. I can have some right in one county and not in another, and somehow that's still a defensible position? I just don't get it. I contacted the person in the Sheriff's Dept regarding getting a CCW. She gave me the application but told me "you're not going to get a permit." WTF?

Not an administrator or a mod, but this comment is not out of place or innapropiate, in my opinion. Believe me, there are many people who are frustrated with this problem, but this is just one of many examples of how f up CA is. We even have a politician who openly says something like "This is CA, we don't pay too much attention to the Constitution...". Kid you not. Don't need to believe me, just Google it. Sawyer Jones or something like that.

It's quite clear that Peruta is not dead, not finished, not at all.

Should we apply now to get a spot in line? Peruta will be finished in our favor in 2017, I believe.

It's been a couple of years since I moved to LA County and applied for a LTC but isn't "imminent threat" one of the counties trigger words to actually issuing an LTC? If a congresswoman is having a meeting about imminent threats...

Maybe we can get the Congresswomen to talk to the Sheriff...

Ok, I'll come back to reality now.

It's disgusting and tyrannical that McDonnell can arbitrarily decide that law-abiding citizens cannot get an LTC. I don't understand how a LEO would want people to be helpless in the face of danger while criminals walk around armed without an LTC? Doesn't his head explode from the cognitive dissonance? And what about serving the law-abiding citizens of his county? Isn't that one of his responsibilities. The LASD is one corrupt organization, for while they deny the average law-abiding citizen their natural, civil and Constitutional right to bear arms, every crony of McDonnell is issued an LTC without regard to "good cause". He's as corrupt as Baca.

I just received my denial letter from Burbank chief of police yesterday. Been a private investigator for over 20 years now, Working many court panel cases as well as private, some very high risk situations over the course of my career. DENIED citing criteria must show imminent serious risk of harm not potential risk? My first time applying never thought it would be difficult for me. Any suggestions is appreciated

Probably not the suggestion you want to hear, but, maybe move to Kern or San Bernardino county.

Wow so many answers and so much information. I live in Orange County and would like to get my CCW. Never had any issues with the law.
Do I even have a chance ? I don't mind going anywhere in CA to do it.

Since this is your first post .... Welcome newbie!

OC has its own thread. You can find out a lot in the opening post of that thread and, I'd guess, the last 2 or 3 pages of posts to see what recent practice of the OC sheriff has been re. issuing CCWs: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=352774

If you're a law-abiding citizen who can buy a handgun, the odds are you can get a CCW from the OC sheriff's office. Go for it!

Today I received my denial letter from la county sheriff's for my CCW app. I was one of the people who put self defense down as good cause. Is their any lawsuits I can join over this?

use the Grand Jury like Solano Co did

In case there's ANYONE in LA Co willing to fight for a CA CCW....

While I haven't looked into the process myself yet (I'm in Ala Co), it appears that once you get the ball rolling, the Grand Jury takes over and does all the investigating, collecting information, reviewing the law, applying the law to the facts and coming up with conclusions and decisions.

IOW, the costs to you in time, money and effort might not be great at all.
