I just typed up a letter asking for the status of my paper work since March2014. It was sent today with certified mail. I also picked up the phone call up LASD and the deputy answered saying they are waiting for their attorney to finalize things. From the tonicity of the voice, it is a good to go.

Just remember, fill everything out, even sign everything even the parts where it wants a witness. (Of course leave the witness signature and badge # blank)

I filled all of it. I saw a few people get theirs sent back because they didn't fill everything.

Even though it says "for investigator" still fill out your information.

Yes, fill out everything. If you download the application from the LASD website, it includes instructions for how to fill out and submit the application. FILL EVERYTHING OUT, aside from witness signature and badge number, and mail it in with the $10 processing fee.

I assume that later we will get a letter detailing the remainder of the process and other fees.

Good luck! It only took me 10 days to get a response from the day I dropped my app off at the post office!

This is what I'm wondering... if there would be any benefit to waiting? I'm thinking best case scenario licenses start getting issued but most likely they will just find another excuse to deny apps so it probably won't matter.

Any update on LAPD? I had my interview about a month ago and asked them about Peruta. They said they were waiting for the en banc.

Me too, knowing LA they will do everything in their power to drag it out and still deny applicants

If they can't use "enhanced need" they'll use "good moral character" to deny. As in, nobody has good enough moral character.

Thats like coming out in the open and telling the people they are above us and we are below them and shall bow down to their GREAT MORAL characteristics!

... The unfortunate part of it all is, they wouldn't care one bit.
