I know 3 guys that crossed 91 days yesterday and nothing so far. I hit 90 days on 12/12.

Sure feel sorry for folks that have interviews next summer, they can't even get in line yet, and the line isn't getting any shorter.

Seems like many of the instructors up in North San Diego County (Vista/O'Side) are only a few days out, any recommendations?

As others mentioned, the qualification on the range was pretty straightforward per the State's requirements (15 rounds per gun on your CCW). Website said to bring much more ammo, but it wasn't necessary (maybe if you needed more practice).

Prior to the qual we all went out onto the range and practiced some draw-from-concealment drills and reholstering. Then did these same drills for the qualification. I think it was very helpful that they actually did the draw from holster with live fire.

I believe PWG will allow that on their range if you've completed there classes.

    Would recommend.

Now just waiting for the sheriff to mail out my CCW.
Plus 1 for David. Qualified a year ago. Good class.

Hello, I have a method of getting an earlier interview date which can be up to a year earlier. If you are interested DM me.

I recently completed my CCW training and qualification with David Premetz of EFGA (Escondido Fish & Game Association). It was out at their private range in Escondido near Lake Wolford. I can't speak highly enough about the experience. I really enjoyed all the scenarios we went through drawing from holster (no ammo in pistol). I plan to practice those a lot at home and whenever I can go to a range that will let you draw from holster in the future (or desert). Also, the outdoor range time, he was very kind to offer me invaluable advice on my technique. While I shot perfectly fine and even did some shooting afterwards far beyond what was required, I now can appreciate how further training will really prove beneficial.

No issues at all with being unemployed. Was never asked about it, wasn't even mentioned.

Applied on September 21, 2022 and the earliest date available was 7/31/23. Listened to others mentioning to refresh constantly and check. Literally minutes ago, I found a slot for 12/12/22. Cut it down by 7 months! Excited to have sped up the process!

I've had no issues being retired but that isn't quite the same. Lots of people are out of work right now. I can't imagine this being an issue.

I have not heard of any. Keep in mind that this may prompt them to ask why you are unemployed. If it is as simple as you voluntarily leaving one job and taking a break before starting the next, it should not be a problem. If you were terminated for cause or resigned in lieu of termination, it could be a different story.

You pay the fee in Permitium. I paid as soon as I got the approval notification, but I suppose you could also take care of it when you upload your proof of training.

You can pay it before or after the class. The email you receive from the Sheriff's office that says you've been approved includes a link back to the Permitium website to pay.
