My pop?s and I been trying to get him a sooner appointment for the last 2 weeks. His appointment is in June 2024 lol. Seems like it a bit harder compared when I rescheduled mine and got it 7 months sooner late last year.

Keep at it. You never know when someone is going to cancel an appointment and something frees up.

Good news is that is probably way off. I got my permit, in my hands, 3 days after payment and they send that email.
Interview: 3/13/23
Approval: 6/9/23
Class: 6/11/23
Paid: 6/13/23
Permit received: 6/16/23

For those nearing the end, payment is no longer done through permitium, you have to call them (or, I think you can physically go to the sheriff office to pay in person). After you get the approval email, it will have their phone number in it to call. You can do so immediately, but if you don't, they'll call you after a couple days anyway.

Yep - got my permit in the mail 6/17 - I did pay the final fee through permitium - it was an option on the web site so I did it - a processing fee was added on.

So did my training, on 6/8. Got approval from SDSO on 6/14. Uploaded my cert, emailed to notify them I did, paid the last $80 fee, later that day was told I was all set. Email states 3-4 weeks before I get it in the mail.

Congratulations! The waiting is always the hardest part.

Oops! Scheduled my training for 6/8 which is around day 80 after my appointment. If it is an additional 60 I should be okay as the cert will be within the 90 days it's supposed to be good for...fingers crossed.

I managed to get my appointment on 3/20 after filling out my application on 3/3. Been trying to fast track this as much as I can. Kind of frustrating as I have a FFL with a COE, and on the exemption list..I think my background has been checked - and checked - and checked again already...

From what my buddy told me His trainer said he is going to have to reshoot. I have a feeling SDSO is paying a bit more attention to training dates then before. I have the same FFL & COE, it means nothing.

Well CA has one less CCW holder since we moved to TN recently. Nothing feels better than removing the take down mag release on my AR and legally carrying like a free citizen. No the laws are not perfect here, however, I can finally breathe.

I'm on my third renewal and I have yet to hear an explanation on why they can't simply renew you in accordance with your current expiration date so you don't lose any time. I'm sure it's a dumb legal reason of some sort.

And normally I wouldn't complain about something like this but the fact that we have to go through the damn renewal process every TWO years and pay all the fees again every TWO years...I wan't my damn money's worth!

applied for my renewal (my 1st) on 5/3/22, which was the 45th day before the expiration date (6/17/23). Took my renewal class on 5/21 and uploaded the paperwork. Received the email informing me that my renewal application was accepted on 5/31. Received the new paper and (meaningless) card permits today dated for 5/31/23 and expires on 5/31/2025. Lost 17 days.
