I just picked up my p365 two days ago so I am hoping to get approval asap. Wish you the best. The unconstitutional regulations/pseudo-laws here are sickening.

My 90 days is up on 11/12. I realized I could've used Google to tell me 90 days ha.

Since 11/12 is a Sunday, I'll be sending an email on Monday morning 11/13. I just bought the P365, so hopefully I get an answer. If denied, then next thing. If approved, then I'll be racing to get the gun and my training done before the year starts. I want the feeling of carrying just a few times before SB2.

For renewals, training jumps to 8 hours in January from SB2. If my permit expires in January but my window to renew opens in December, can I do a 4 hour class in December or do I have to complete an 8 hour class.

Is any of the litigation attacking new training requirements?

I think I would call the sheriff's office and ask them which class you have to take. My suspicion is that if your permit is going to be issued in Jan, then you need the 8 hour class.

Checking daily to bump up the interview. Any tips to speed up the interview date other than daily checking?

You just have to keep at it. Check several times a day if you can manage it as you never know when someone is going to cancel their appointment and a spot opens up. Others are trying to dot he same thing.

SD Sheriff's Dept has done a pretty good job overall with their process considering how things were 6 years ago when they first started issuing. They've had big backlogs in the past and did a good job of getting them under control but I'm not sure much is going to be done with the current situation.

I suspect with Bruen that the number of applicants has gone through the roof. And from what I can tell...and this is just a guess...but it appears like they only do interviews on Mondays. There is likely a significant staffing issue and they've dedicated Mondays to CCW applicants but the clerks still have a tone of other duties.

I understand the challenges of being short staffed but a year wait is horrendous and clearly unconstitutional...but it's probably going to take a lawsuit...or two to improve this situation.

There is no other way that I know of besides checking. I checked multiple times per day and moved my appointment up by many months when I finally got an earlier appointment.

And that's the thing, ab-2 requires 16 hours of training now I believe. Trying to cut class short here!

Just passed 56 days. Dang, I really hope it doesn't go the full 90. I'm hoping to get the ccw in my possession before ab-2 goes into effect so I can know what it feels like to carry outside.

I'm sure you will get that opportunity. While it won't take as long, the wait after completing your training will feel much longer. Good luck!
