Wow 87 days is not too bad. When I went in for my interview I was told 90 days and more than likely no sooner. I am only 33 days in so far. It seems like time frame is kind of random, because I have a friend that got his approval letter 60 days and another friend that got his at 87 days as well. My timeline so far is as follows.

If you do not mind me asking. Did you have any contact with the Sheriff's department or BI during your 90 day wait?

    Initial Application submitted: 07/20/2020
    Interview Date: 03/29/2021
    Interview Rescheduled: 04/16/2021
    Went to Interview: 0416/2021
    Live Scan and Photo: 04/16/2021
    Now awaiting approval/denial.

Congratulations. Did you background check from Post Live Scan take the full 90 days?

Good to know. Who did you use to qualify for your add on firearm?

Seems the simple stuff is reasonable. Had a work address change and that was not long.

I added one very recently and it was much quicker. I think about 3 weeks.

I didn't hear from the BI until maybe 75 days or so?

The wheels turn slowly and it's all crickets. I get the sense to follow up, but probably just bogs things down as a whole.

They're obligated by law to finish in 90 days.... and they're using almost all of it for most people.

So if you are waiting to hear about approval, there is no reason to book your training yet. You only need to have that before your pick-up date, and unless you have unusual scheduling issues, you should have plenty of time to get your training done in the period between when you are notified of approval and your scheduled pick up date.

It has been 45 days since my appointment. Officially halfway through the 90 day waiting period. It’s been dead silent- not a word from Miranda or the Sheriff, and no residence check.

Any tips? Should I book my course and go for it?
