If we get that NY SCOTUS win soon, some one correct me if I am wrong….good cause requirement goes away? So just self defense will work. Seems that would create more demand for CCW and maybe Sheriffs departments would pressure the state to get away from this silly every two years thing. AZ does just fine with five or constitutional carry.

I have an appointment for tomorrow's class as well. Did they mention to you about how much ammo we need to bring for qualification?

Patrick will give you all the time you need to aim and shoot, I think most people shoot better with a laser than with iron sights, but is so easy to qualify that I doubt a laser will make or break your qualification. The light portion will be irrelevant to your qualification as will a holster. I have qualified with them multiple times and they don't have you draw from a holster.

For the person asking about the ammo, you should be able to call DGM and ask.

Yes, most people expect the GC requirement to go away. As far as the state changing any rules to make it easier to carry in response to demand, absolutely none of that will occur. Expect thing to move in the other direction when they lose their most powerful means of restricting permits.

Renewal Approved - Got a text and an email today.

Submitted my renewal on April 9 for a May 21 Expiration date.

It sat it waiting to be assigned a processor from April 9 to Permit Delivered May 13.

Will post an update when it arrives in the mail.

Interesting part this time through. I submitted all the listed required documents. Scans of ID, two proofs of residency, and qualification cert. But they did not ask me to send any documents related to my business which was the basis of my good cause. I did have to submit these at my last renewal.

My 8 hour class was 3.5 years ago at this point so I don't remember specifically. But it was definitely around noon-ish. Nothing crazy early or crazy late. Bring a couple Power Bars or an apple if you're prone to between meal munchies.

It really depends on how many guns you're bringing. Their website should state what the shooting qual consists of. I think they've change it a bit so check their site for the current info. Then multiply that by the number of guns you're bringing and then double it...incase you fail the first time and have to retake it. Or tripple it if you're really bad.

Also load as many mags as you can at home. It helps speed things along.

I uploaded a wrong document in my permitium. Can it be remove after uploading it? Did my training today and completed successfully.

No, once documents have been uploaded in permitium , there is no way to remove any documents. You can just upload the correct document and label it for the processor.

I'm sorry, I don't know. My PermitiumFu is very weak. Seems like there should be a way. If not, you could always upload a new document and explain in the first paragraph that you made a mistake with the previous doc and to replace it with the new one. Or perhaps give the clerks a call and see if they can pull it or ask them what you should do.

                            Nice job on passing!

Yeah I passed the exam today. Uploaded my certificate and also email it to the processor.
