So, my December 8th, 2020 appointment was rescheduled to March after I emailed them, per their instructions. Hoping it's the only reschedule.

I was told they only have the in person appointments on Mondays. That's it. Before the VOID, they were testing out Saturday appointments too. No mas.

Just the class left for me. Its been 9 months to this point

Does anyone know if I clock on the online "reschedule" button, if it won't change my appointment if I can't find an earlier one? Over a year is ridiculous.
I applied for a new permit on July 15, and was given a date of March 15, 2021. At that time I was bummed for a 7 month wait.

Just got my renewal appointment set for 11/19, applied 9/8. Will have ~3 week gap in a permit but I'll survive.

There is quite a backlog due to popularity (word getting out that the sheriff is now issuing) and delays brought on by the plague. The renewal volume is up too as they started issuing over two years ago and those original permits are now coming up for renewal. You very likely got the first available appointment. I would NOT "roll the dice" and click reschedule as it will probably be a later appointment.

In the past the staff has been good about pulling in appointments as they are able to work through the backlog. Hopefully things will improve. I know it's frustrating.

Historically they have been calling people and moving their appointment up months.

I hope it's by several months. Haha! Thanks for letting me know.

If they need to find some spare manpower for their committee, I bet I can think of a few folks with some time on their hands.

How about the group of folks whose job it is to "safety" test all those guns being submitted for inclusion on the roster? I bet they can spare a few hours out of their busy days.

It's gummint! They 1st need a committee to study the feasibility of issuing a plastic card and how many plastic trees must die.

Well, when I asked they have no idea when the CC permit will be made official or even if it EVER will be. There are other counties that have been giving them out and it's been a year for them. I won't be laminating my paper one again, too awkward. I folded into fourths and sandwich it between my San Diego permit and my AZ permit to protect it.

I guess my cynicism is showing, but we are talking about the CA DOJ here. This is the same bureaucracy that has a policy to refuse to answer any questions from its subjects...ahem.. citizens about if something is legal.

I've posted this statement before, but the only way California gun laws make any sense is to understand that they have nothing to do with safety, but their purpose is to make buying, owning, carrying or using a gun as expensive, difficult, risky, and uncertain as possible. I would expect them to take as long as possible to do ANYTHING that makes carrying more convenient.
