I don't think he's so much - "Leftist" - as he is someone who designed and built a site to be sold to someone or some entity to be managed. He's essentially acknowledged that as his intent. As a result, he's attempting to make it 'attractive' to any would-be buyer by 'regulating' the content and timbre. Those attempts include what many here feel to be 'censorship.' My take is that it's more related to his personal sense of aesthetic and what he deems marketability.

Insofar as what you describe as 'throwing money down the drain here,' that depends on the premise one works from. If you feel the site is about 'done' and will imminently collapse, then such would be a 'logical,' maybe even 'reasonable,' deduction. On the other hand, if you have faith in Kestryll and believe in the site, it's shilling for something many remaining here don't see or desire. Finally, if you simply accept the site for what it is and assume it's being 'worked on,' no matter how slowly and with intermittent success, then it tends to be irritating to have an handful of members throwing out that type of assessment.

Which line of thought is the reasonable one? That's up to the individual to judge; but, it certainly isn't productive, no matter which is closest to 'the Truth,' to keep posting that type of thing.

I can personally testify to the issues with running a site like this. I ran several commercial sites for 20 years and it can be a pain in the ARSE!

Be patient, stand by our brothers and support them.

Some updates here and there from Kes would be nice. I know we are all busy with real life, but this site has been part of our lives for so long its just frustrating that its not working most of the time

Agreed. This site had a small business feeling. The owner would pop in and it had that cool vibe. At this point it’s disrespectful.

I noticed that the CAPTCHA feature no longer works. It's impossible for anyone new to sign up. Not that anyone new can access this site very often, but some people are into ghost towns.

For those who enjoy it I say keep coming here but it is simply unusable, when I want to use it. Otherwise it works fine 🙄

There is no reason for these technical problems to exist for years, the entire internet proves that. I mean, I wouldn't put my name behind it but it is not for us to ask to shut it down. I just don't understand it. I ran two servers, built and hosted websites for ten years with e-commerce and tons of traffic and never had these issues. All as a side business while I worked full time as an Auto Tech.

It's not some mystery, someone can fix it but it costs $$
