Hello World

I am new to this forum. Thank you in advance for having me. I bought my first firearm (Marlin Model 60 22LR) back when you could pay and leave with your purchase the same day! I also have a 1917 16Ga Winchester Model 12 (was my grandfathers, then my dad's, now mine) and AR-15 (S&W).

Hey there everyone!

I've browsed this forum from time to tim, but was leary about posting any personal info given the current times. But I feel confident from reading these forum posts, that this is one BIG family.

Just like in a true family, some one may rub his brother the wrong way once in a while, but at the end of the day it's like we're all sitting down at the dinner table together eating a delicious turkey (or cleaning our guns, drinking our favorite beverages, etc) and sharing favorite stories.

Thanks for letting me be part of the family here at CalGuns! Hopefuli I DON'T rub any of you the wrong way.

Oh, I only have one firearm now, since my rifle was banned in the 90's. I had a nice Chinese SKS 7.62x39mm with a black wood stock (I stripped it and coated it with true-oil), chrome-lined barrel, thum-hole pistol grip, a few 30-round detacheable magazines...but they ground off the bayonet lug. I re-ground it into a nice half-pipe front site (like a skate ramp). I never got to fire it the whole 2 years I owned it. Took it back to the dealer I bought it from. Better than the $100 the Sheriff's Dept would have given me. I hear that rifle is legal again, maybe with a mod or two?

Well, at least I still have my old Ruger KP89 9mm pistol.

Just kinda tripped over this site doing some web surfing. Taking hunter safety required course to get my hunting license this week and hoping to get a rifle before deer season. Moved back to N. Cali about 6 months ago and don't know too many people up here yet so if anyone sane and sober near Orland wants a new fishing buddy, I'm looking for people to get a line wet with, or to hunt with once I get my license this month. Hi I am Ftak & I have been reading the forums & finally decided to join. I look at some of the laws in California regarding firearms & thought they were exaggerations but there not. I am in the weapons component industry & know many retailers who will not ship to California & I was just trying to figure out why. As long as you play by the rules I cant see any harm. But one thing many venders bring up is what happened to Cav Arms which I have heard so many different stories it's crazy. Anyway I am going to hang around with y'all in the forums. Texas gun laws are great for there are none really that is if you can legally own a gun. Armed society is a honest society & I look forward to discussions on here. Thanks for having me. Good day

Hello from Texas again I am Ftak & my specailty is the AR15. My brand is Noveske & my handguns are Sig. I have built many AR's but only personal weapons & never for resale but I did trade two for a set of Sea Doos & they were quite desired. I use mostly Noveske parts when building but I also use LMT & Vltor. I started selling components now for I have the AR plague. I have a lot of varietys of gear well all of it except lowers. I really enjoy it and have firearms in my DNA. So let's chat soon & share some ideas for I have many. Thanks for having me

Hello. Long time lurker, 1st time poster... so thanks for all the "FREE" info! I grew up in eastern Pennsylvania where we have things like the Liberty Bell to remind us why the 2nd Amendment is so important if we wish to retain the 1st! While fairly moderate, I have never understood CA's Draconian firearms laws.
I have enjoyed reading all the knowledge based info posted here, and would likely have joined long ago if I was half as comfortable with how forums work as I am with how Firearms work. Thanks again, and hope I will be able to contribute.
