I?m not on Tapatalk and it?s still doing it for posts

This is what a Tapatalk tech emailed me:


I looked into this and found that most posts have formatting issues in web view as well, so it's actually not an issue in the app since it also happens when viewing in a web browser.

It's not a tapatalk issue and looking at the comments here I'm not certain it's a forum software either.

It seems to work for some and not others plus Skyhawk's comment on quoting others reformatting the apostrophe's makes me think it's a local computer issue.
That doesn't preclude it being something that originated with the server move it's more likely there is an issue reading something in some browsers or individual computers.

Well those seem to display fine, very weird.
So is the issue with things displaying correctly in MS Edge.
I'll have to look in to what is causing that.

Unfortunately I think the permanent solution is going to be doing the software upgrade to vB5.x or SMF. That is going to have to happen soon.

If I use auto-correct , it uses question-mark instead of apostrophe... when I type apostrophe manually, it works.

This is from mobile device with stock on-screen keyboard (Samsung)... I don't know what it does from computer.

Clear data/cache on your tapatalk app, and internet browser app. Clear all-time cookies/history from your browser.

Restart computer or phone.

I'll mention 2 things, first off great work on a monumental task!

2nd, I like others log in and then have to hit the refresh button to actually be logged in. Running windows 10 with firefox.

Login refresh bug everytime, Column spacing bug sometimes.

Yeah, the only minor issue I've had so far is the "...family picture" thread loads very slow.

No issues with punctuation; I have NOT logged out and tried to log back in though. No problem accessing any forum or sub forum.

Basically about the same as prior to the swap with minor search issues that had prior anyway.

I don't own a cell phone so cannot address that.

Operating sys., old Win 7 Pro, and browser current vet. of Firefox.

A new software change for Calguns may make my good fortune with server swap moot though...oh well.

I know this has been mentioned, but I thought it worth reinforcing.

The System recognizes characters such as - ", ', -, ..., etc. - in the entry box and even on the preview page. It isn't until the text is actually posted that the characters are replaced with a "?," making for awkward reading.

That's not using Tapatalk, that's using direct entry from a desktop; most often, though not entirely exclusively, through copy & paste when quoting from articles, etc. (The 'not entirely exclusively' is hard to pin down to provide specifics.)

Def not Tapa, chrome or safari. Mobile version or desktop. I?m guessing something in translation when the post button is hit.

There?s also a delay between when you post to actual showing up in the forum. 5+ minutes if you refresh from the main forum menu

Do this daily already. Doesn?t change anything. I even do a hard reboot on my iPad holding down the home button and power button till the logo shows back up.
