There is an option to be notified by email; other than that nothing on PM's.

If anyone has a hint as to where I lost my balloon, I will appreciate it if instructed where to look.

ETA: 1 I did change the layout to vB5 earlier.
ETA: 2 Changing layout to default or other layouts made no difference in the last balloon.
I think it does not show one for yourself. I mean, there is no point in being able to send a message to yourself. I can see the balloon on your post.

Has anyone figured out how the UI in your profile for "Customize My Style" works? For me at least, it seems non-functional or broken. I thought that maybe I could increase the default font size for viewing posts, but it does not seem to do anything.

I'll be completely honest, it seems broken, and I am amazed that vBulletin would deploy code like that.

Probably user error on my end, but when I click on a multi page thread, it starts on the first page instead of the last ,which is pretty dang annoying.

You should see the >> on the far right of a topic. click that will go to the last page

I miss being able to see most recent post's use name in thread topic before opening thread...

That feature was useful for many reasons.

That is on the right hand side, under "Last Post".

I just noticed (by fluke) that it goes away when I use 'desktop site' mode in Firefox options (I'm using tablet)...

I would have never known if it weren't for the fact that clicking new post link in email sends me to normal layout (presumably mobile)...

When I read your post I backed out of the thread, noticed layout was different, saw the names (as you indicated) and realizes it was the (non) desktop setting... switched to destop and they went away again... pro/cons to using desktop feature I guess.

I hardly every use PC (almost never) for this site... vintage .net didn't have the issue.

Hmmm... yeah i use chrome for a couple sites for work (on pc) because they aren't very compatible with Firefox ... many require edge (which I never use) or chrome (which I onky use if I must, for work)...

I won't use chrome for personal use.

Just a suggestion to install a favicon.ico file in the webroot.

I understand, it is what I prefer to use. The Firefox rendering engine has a lot of issues.

I found a place that seems like ut should be able to alter the text, but doesn't work.
Click on your username, upper hand corner.
                            Click on user profile.
In the box on the left there is a button labeled "customize my style" but nothing seems to work, playing with that a bit. In the above box, look at the button labeled "user panel." Text seems to be one thing that should be altered.
                            any ideas?.
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

Yes, mentioned this above. It seems broken to me.

Can we have a forum dedicated to learning / understanding the new web server? Maybe even a sticky addressing common areas of concern or confusion? A forum seems good because it's a single place to ask questions and find answers.
