I'm going pretty much the same route as your brother did. I've sent my resume to a couple of places, but really if there are cars and they need to be worked on, finding a job shouldn't be too hard for me.
I know the stereotype is that they all ride horses to get around in Texas, but that's honestly not more than 70% of the population.
It'll be easier for us because I have a friend in San Antonio who kindly offered to put us up for a while before the decision was even made to move.
We had a look at houses online, and it doesn't look like we'll have too much trouble finding ourselves one with payments lower than our monthly rent is now.
It's scary, but exciting at the same time, and hugely stressful. Man... I really do hate moving.
