I was shooting at 1N09 today when a couple of Forest Service officers showed up to take pictures of the trash left by shooters. They said that they are trying to organize a cleanup of the site, since the trash is not only unsightly but is also concerning for contamination of natural water flow through the area.
The cleanup will be sometime in the near future, and they will provide drinks/food and whatever else they can to expedite the process. I told them that I would be happy to help, work schedule permitting. I think that this would be a great way to not only take care of one of the last legal outdoor shooting sites available in the area, but also to represent our fine shooting community here at Calguns. The site is not as bad as the usual condition of some of the other sites, but it is certainly unacceptable. It shouldn't take that many people to get it taken care of. If anyone would like to help out, please reply or send me a PM. Thanks.
