Hey guys, I am looking for a 1000 yard range where I can teach my kids how to shoot out to 1000. My oldest is already killing deer @ 528 yrds, and he and my youngest want to push it out to 1000. Thanks

I was a USMC sniper and SWAT sniper, so I think Ill be OK, I have heard Sac Valley is not an open range. I would like to take my time with my boys and work each yard line back to 1000 so they understand the balistics of thier gunsComment

Sac valley is a good range. Public can use 100 yard. If you qual you can use 300 yard. And for 1k range just find out when club who runs is going to be there and qual with them.

Sac valley club that runs the 1000 yard range puts on a beginner and advanced clinic every year which the start up close and work there way out to the 1000 yard line.Comment

Tuesdays for Long Range at Sac Valley is known as "church".
The range opens at 7:30, first shot down the range at 8 and they'll be there then, and pretty much all morning. Check in at the range office and let them know you're joining the group, they'll help you from there. And congrats on this. I can't even see the target at 1000 yards, never mind hit it....WHAT I HAVE LEARNED SO FAR, MOSTLY THE HARD WAY
