There are Coalinga and Sacramento 1,000 yard ranges.

If you are in the south bay, Coalinga is probably closer.

Consider shooting the 3X600 at Coalinga Sept. 15th. Bring 100 rounds and $22, includes lunch after the match.

I don't think you can just show up and use the Sac Valley 1000 yard range.
You may have to be a member of the long range club and the of the Folsom Shooting Club. They do have the steel pig, chicken etc, out to 500 yards, but you have to take an introduction to the range class, that is held once a month, and be a member of the Folsom Shooting Club.

You can show up to shoot a match at range 12 as did alot of first time shooters did at the match 2 weeks ago. First site in your gun at 100 yards then look for the next match posting here.It is Sep 8,9. Pm killshot or Pathfinder as they are running those matches

Coalinga also.

Don't waste time and ammo plinking on BLM land.

If you're interested in shooting 1000 yards at Sac Valley, read the sticky post at the top of the this (the Centerfire) forum. If you have any questions send me a PM. I'm one of the match directors out there.
