i don't really see where is the problem. If I shaved my legs and had a pair of boobs, just about everywhere would be female friendly

Target Masters West(AKA "Ghetto Guns")near the police station in Milpitas (the armpit of the SF Bay Area) is woman owned, or at least the "boss" is a woman, and they are famous(infamous) for catering to newbie shooters and even renting them guns for "first time ever" at their onsite pistol range.
I would say they are female friendly and have some woman on staff besides the boss.
If any of the clerks seem clueless or not helpful, well, they are like that to both men and women (but they seem fine as long as you aren't asking about the finer points of guns they don't stock or something).

Oaktree Gun Club in Santa Clarita has a great store with good prices.
It is run by sisters who are professional and have numerous women employees. They are a great bunch of folks who (in my opinion) run one of the best gun ranges in the area.Comment

My recommendation is home based FFLs, in So Cal, Redfield Armory in Orange County(Sean) and EBR(Mike and Michelle) in Thousand Oaks. Whether you are a serious pistolero or a newbie who needs handholding, they will treat you with respect and will not rush or pressure you. I haven't heard one single complaint from all the people I've sent to them.sigpicNRA Life Member

The need for this thread is a prime reason why the RKBA does not have the social acceptance it should. As a minority gun owner who's gotten the "Ur soooo a straw purchaser!" look and attitude from gun shop staff, I know something of the OPs dilemma.
One wonders how many iPhones Apple would sell if their staff said to half their customers " hey lady, you can't handle a 128 GB cell phone. Here's a 16 GB iPod touch...."Comment

That said, newbies DO need more support, both from their shooting mentors/instructors and LGS, regardless of whether they are men or women. Respectful guidance is always a good thing. And I think that's what Angelina was asking for, in the first place.
