i like the XD's since they are very similar to the Glock (mechanically speaking and durability as well) but have a much smaller grip circumference. my girl can handle a XD9 sub much easier than she can handle the G27 (grip wise, not talking about recoil difference).

Old man here but I also think your looking at an XDs 9 would be worth your time. I want to get myself the .45 before the SSE in Ca goes away if I can swing the extra funds.

You made a great choice! Get your snap caps and practice drawing and taking the safety off until it's embedded into your muscle memory if you haven't already.
You can also feel good about the "cocked and locked" thing. I'm sure you know but others may not, that your little Sig has three safety's. The thumb safety which disengages the trigger, the half cock on the hammer which will catch the hammer unless the trigger is pulled and a firing pin block which will engage unless the trigger is pulled. So as long as your trigger is covered there is no way that gun can go off. Which is comforting when you carry appendix.

Thanks! My snap caps are en route from Amazon and I can barely wait. I need to get used to remembering to engage the safety. I won't dare load or carry this gun until I do.

I also need to break it in, which may be awhile. We have a busy weekend and I need my husband to keep the kids for me while I'm gone. My holster is on order and won't arrive for two weeks, so my goal is to have mastery of the gun - safety, field stripping, cleaning, dry firing, shooting - by then. I never thought I'd love a gun more than my Glock, but I just may have surrendered my affections to the Sig.

Your Rainbow Sig has a lot more personality than a Glock... just sayin'.

The only ammo that my Sig gets finicky with is the Winchester White Box


it has to do with that flat tip I think.

Also when doing a magazine reload, sometimes the slide will release on its on and return to battery. I think it has something to do with how easy the slide is to move (rack).
