What events would you ladies like to see Calguns/CGSSA host?

Pretty much the title say's it all. We have our monthly shoots and see some of you there or hope to see some of you there real soon. What other event's would you ladies like to see Calguns/CGSSA host to get you ladies out more often?

We are having more Women on Target classes that are going to be held throughout the rest of the year. Rifle classes coming soon and maybe even shotgun too...so what else?

More classes? If so what type? Defensive? Competition? Recreational?
Other types of events? If so what?

Some events held on the cheap close to Manteca would be nice......

Say some where to shoot at something besides paper. I miss that!

    Defo recreational for me!

Competition get us ready for our first comps. Once the learning curve has been established, I think more women would get involved. It is intimidating going to a comp, even for me I have shot for years, know how to shoot, but concerned with the comp, where to begin, what to do etc.. I like knowing what I am doing before walking into it.

Your best bet for competition training are the local USPSA and IDPA clubs who regularly hold intro to competition classes.

For USPSA in Southern California our guy is gun fu in the Norco area.

For IDPA, it's Nathan Rollins near Piru.

Northern and Central clubs have similar training available.

NorCal is a large place. San Jose can be from 10 minutes to five hours away for many. I personally am over 2.5 to 3 hours away from San Jose. That is on a good day! What about the Sacramento, foothill, Chico and Redding group?

Great all of the clinics are 2-4 hours away. Looking for San Diego competitors. Where and when do you shoot comps?

LOL. I've been volunteering at the Women on Target classes and it's a two hour drive for me.If you want something bad enough, you'll make the drive for it.

Well, I would like to shoot with other Calgun women. I would like to take a class with other Calgun woman. But, I can do all the clinics I want 45 minutes away. I wish there were closer events for all of us to meet to do a clinic.

                        You asked, I am answering.

I would like a clinic with women on Calguns at a reasonable distance. Heck, if I wanted it bad enough I suppose I could drive to Southern CA too.

USPSA at Pala about 1 mile north of the casino, 2 matches a month plus 3 gun.

You'd be surprised. I have 3 ladies coming from San Diego for the Sept Women on Target clinic.

I always say, if you want an event in your local area, start one. Anyone can announce a coffee meetup, a day and time to shoot at a particular range, get an NRA instructor to do a short safety briefing at a local range. Be creative and feel free to be a self-starter.
