I took my son to the range today for stress relief. We shot our father/son set of 10/22s. Then we shot my Glock 19. I hate to say that for his first time he out did his dear old dad with the Glock. I wish I could say it was due to my recent shoulder surgery.

I redeemed myself with the old .30-30. He did not like the recoil. This was the first time in over 35 years that someone other than myself has shot that rifle, and I thought it was fitting that it was my son.

He is going to cost me dearly. He said he needs some more stress relief later this week. He allowed me to put 15 rounds through the Glock before he put 85 rounds through it. He wants one of his own now.

    Shooting is great stress relief.
Haha! Those Glocks will convert just about anyone! I cut my teeth on a Glock 17 and a few months later was the proud owner of the Gen 4 G19! It's no wonder he loves how it shoots! As for being out-shot...I'm sure it was the shoulder! have a good week!

I run into the same issue. I try to mitigate it by having ear plugs in addition to over ear head phone protection while wearing eye protection.

Plus . . . girls and guns . . . now THAT is sexy! Sorry, I just had to say it.

You go girl, its better than taking your stress out on some unsuspecting victim.

LOL! Glock Girl in CA is more fierce, prettier and dresses better.....she wins! I was just saying "twins" because the two photos were very similar - I even have a casing flying out of my Glock as well!

This is me looking dumpy, but still hitting my targets:

You're right there with me, BK! Sisters we are! You look pretty cute with your Glock! I mean tough; really tough!

On that note, I do confess to looking extra girly at the range; I want other girls to see that you don't have to be some bad-***** girl to want to/like to shoot. I want to be relatable. A lot of these pics go on my FB, and I'm hoping to make converts, you know! In my pre-gun life I never thought I was quite tough enough to wield a gun in front of a bunch-'o-guys, so maybe that's why I dress like a priss at the range. So the girls will say, "If SHE can do it, I certainly can!"

one of my best days: went to tai chi, then drove to markley's and spent some hours at the range, then went to a good movie. total at one with the world after that.

Just released 150 rounds of stress today. Felt wonderful. Cleaning the 1911 right now.

May have to go out this weekend, I felt a little tension I forgot to release LOL.

The exquisite thing about shooting is that its an untouchable activity.

What do I mean by "untouchable"?

People at your job lie. Your friends can omit certain valuable details which affect your personal life greatly, and your family has their own sense of what "truth and justice" mean which can diverge from the ol' Webster's Dictionary definition. I won't mention the truckloads of bull we all get from the TV regarding the state of gun ownership and the world today.

On the firing line, its you and the gun. More to the point, its you and the front sight. Either you hit the bulls eye....or you don't.

There's no personal perception, inter-relational perspectives, or corporate-merging of customer-centric sharing of ideas going on. The gun fires, the round hits the target....or it doesn't-either way, for that two-tenths of a second between the time you focus on the front sight and the boomstick actually goes BANG!!!......the outside world is nonexistent, and so are its problems.

Our enemies in government and society would have the layperson think that we gun owners are violent psychos in waiting. In point of fact, because we shoot frequently we are the most well adjusted folk on the planet today. Perhaps that's why we get so many haters in nearly every quarter of modern society, eh?
The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be.
The more subsidies you have, the less self reliant people will be.
-Lao-Tzu, Tau Te Ching. 479 BCE

The 1911 may have been in wars for 100 years, but Masetro Bartolomeo Beretta was arming the world 400 years before John Browning was ever a wet dream.

And the ones with the most self-control.

                            Well said.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

Took various implements to the range last week. Wish it was milk jugs or cans though......

I love the smell of cordite, Pyrodex and a warm firearm in the morning......

                                Ahhhhh, moh bettah!

A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.
