San Diego woman checking in here. Been a member of the forum since 2009 but finally picked up my first firearm two weeks ago. I got a Mossberg 500 JIC II. Looking for other women to go out to the range with until I get better at shooting. The last time I fired a weapon was in 2009 and it was a Glock 9mm. I've been buying a box of ammo every payday so that I have practice birdshot to take to the outdoor range and desert but I have the good stuff for home defense.

Hi there. I live in north San Diego county and shoot at the San Diego Firearms Training Center recently opened in the Poway Industrial park. Very nice place for in-door shooting with a lot of very nice, helpful people working there. I usually go Sunday afternoons with Colt, Glock, and AR.

While I was at the Del Mar Gun Show, one of the employees from there dropped off some information at our tables. It looks beautiful and I haven't had an opportunity to go, but can't wait to check it out!

Team, I would like some recommendations for ranges that have good women's beginning and defensive handgun courses in the San Diego area.

A little background, my wife and I own a little company that sells CCW and personal defense supplies and systems. This ranges from dog training aids, holsters, concealed carry products to stun-guns that fit on your iPhone. We showed for the first time at Del Mar this past weekend and had a number of women ask us who we would recommend give them instruction. We had husbands (many Marines and Navy personnel) that wanted us to recommend instructors. We really don't know/have experience with anyone south or east of Oceanside. We would like to help them out, so I am looking to build a reference book for when were are back in Del Mar.

I prefer personal experience, rather than just a list of ranges that throw in a women's handgun course.

I'm new to shooting here in San Diego. I've lived here for about 15 years, I grew up shooting with my Dad in Nebraska and Texas, and just recently got my own guns!!! I'm interested in finding a group of ladies to go shooting with. I have a few friends that shoot, but making some new friends would be awesome!

Checking in finally... I'm only a couple years late

I haven't been very active on the forums so far but I have volunteered at some CGSSA events and have really been impressed with the people I have been meeting.

I'm an NRA certified instructor, my personal FB page is Black Cat Firearms, and I am one of two chapter leaders for the San Diego Chapter of The Well Armed Woman. I will also be instructing at the new range on Convoy and Balboa, including ladies-only classes.
