How can I learn more about what's expected? Should I just go to one and watch to get a feel for it?

    PM MrBunnyslayer or MrsBunnyslayer. They do competition out of Corona Sportsmens in Corona. I went to the Ladies Shoot that MrsBunnyslayer held last month and all the IPDA shooters were there helping and were very nice and they really want to get more women there. I would say contact them without hesitation. I would like to do this too but with kids and work I don't have much time. They really helped me the one day I met with them.

      The Ladies start at an early age down here,

      Course it helps being hooked up to USPSA Grand Masters....

      No, seriously, there is no reason not to start, and keep it going.

        KillerRabbit, BadKitty, Bunnyslayer... I see a theme here, and I'm also beginning to feel like I really lack creativity in choosing a screen name.

              LOL, I lack creativity as well. I have never been very creative. LuluSS means:

              Lulu= my nickname
              SS = Super Sport

              That's about it.....

                Thanks all for the good suggestions. I'm actually in San Diego and Corona/Norco would probably be a little too far for a casual shooting trip.

                katokat, Alpine is also a little bit out there for me, but the Lemon Grove Gun Club may be worth a look. I'll check out the website - thanks!

                    If any ladies want to come try out a high power match we have a few around such as Jamestown which is up around Angles Camp and Sonora the Ione match and the Coalinga match. I love helping shooters out and getting more women into the sport would be awesome! Just come on out!

                      My girlfriend shoots from time to time at the San Leandro range Saturday nights. They have steel shoots, not a sacntioned steel match, but for practice and fun. If anyone is interested in trying it, please let me know and I can pass the word on. This coming Sunday we are shooting the trap match at Livermore. It's just a club match, nothing fancy, she's been itching to try her new shotgun... We used to shoot at the Richmond range, but the amount of time it takes to drive out there, plus the scheduling made it hard for us. Always good to see more people in general, but I'm sure the guys appreciate lovely ladies out there even more than harry old men.

                        Corona Sportsmens Club has a competitin for about every interest and women are welcome and encouraged. Beginners also. Go to www.coronasportsmensclub.com for a calendar of monthly shoots. Were actually getting quite a few women out to the tactical shoot now. Much more than we used to. Jen is even making the top ten now.
