How do women carry their CCW?

Everyone here is more than happy to help. The where you carry discussion has to revolve around what you wear, what you carry, and physical constraints.
On body carry almost always beats off body carry, but off body carry beats no carry. Knowing the engagement risks when selecting a system is important. Also be prepared to think outside the I carry one gun only box.Comment

I'm in agreement with what grantar2 has already explained.
I will add that I carry IWB cross draw. That's just like AIWB, except on the other side - inside the waistband, but left of the shooter's bellybutton. I just personally find grabbing the grip of the gun from this position to be more natural for me than AIWB. Another benefit I found is that I carry my purse on my left shoulder which, if I tuck my arm/handbag in front, allows me to cover my weapon and I can discreetly reach for my weapon while the purse covers.
I don't mind IWB 4 o' clock in terms of comfort; however, just as was already explained, I don't like not being able to control my weapon while it's behind me and that my shirt riding up when I bend or kneel will expose my weapon. I also don't like that my arm moving back behind my hip will telegraph my intentions to my opponent.
All of that said, what will work for a woman heavily depends on her body shape and type of clothing she wears. What will work for a stick-thin lady may be terrible on a woman with curves. A lot of this is trial and error.Meowr!Comment

Intersting about the cross draw. Never thought of it before but it makes sense in terms of natural reach and in front of you rather than reaching backwards. I've been re-reading the thread and find the info very very good. Appreciate it guys.Last edited by Barang; 06-15-2015, 11:55 PM.Comment

Would be difficult to use pictures to do more than illustrate basic concepts, and you can go to USCCA or The Well Armed Woman website for those.
Really much more so with a woman than a man the carry system has to be tired and fitted. It was really the reason we opened the boutique. There are variations within systems, or more typically someone will say I tried that and didn't like it, it didn't work for me, only to find out they did it wrong. (yeah you can do a holster wrong).Comment

If you carry in the purse, I much prefer the cross-body purse strap. It is safer to carry a purse that way, because it cannot be pulled from you. I use the sticky holster in the zippered gun compartment on the CCW purse. It works great.
Ankle holsters are nice for walking the dogs when your hands are fulll.
AIWB is fast for on the go using a sticky holster.
I've tried N82 IWB at 12, appendix, 3 and 4, but sitting down is a challenge when it is near the front.
If you are in a crowd with hugging, you have to be careful how you carry...
Most of what I see online is shown with walking and standing, but not sitting...and you've got to practice so you know how things work...I'm thinking it would be quite awkward in public to have a CCW-carry malfunction...Comment

i see a potential problem with an ankle holster: you have to bend down which puts one at a disadvantage for being overpowered.....am I wrong in thinking that?"The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound."-- as seen on a t-shirt
