So we might need 1 more NETWORK person in our office... Looks to be opening again...

Every time I edit this I change it.

    SO.

If you like trains, working for a global (think Aussie to Canada) company, and are good with computers and have some networking experience, you might consider the position that we might soon have opening up.

You will be working for a private company as a contractor for a public company (not really, they are also private) while getting full benefits, 1337 training that you can NOT get in school, AND later on in life, the chance to transfer out if you wish and go to Texas or Boston or somewhere else. I had my eyes set on Oregon, but that will most likely not happen just yet.

If you know computers enough to wow me or my boss without bull****ting us, then there MIGHT be a spot for you...

You need to like PIES though, which is People, Integrity, Excellence, and Stewardship. If you have all of those qualities running through your blood, you might be what we are looking for.

More to come in the future, right now the boss is on a vacay.

Before I fire off an email to Fritz, do I just reference a job opening or what? since it looks like teksystems is a contractor/temp-agency type business i don't want to seem like a crazy person emailing him out of the blue about an opening but yet have no way to tell him how i found out about the opening.

since i doubt i can say "a guy from a gun message board named stilly gave me your contact"

It is official from Fritz now. Position is open and interviews are being setup.

Good luck to all that applied and I HOPE someone not only makes it, but makes it for the long run.

Ironically, I was in charge of the installation team that installed all of your PTC systems...small world.

That was before my time most likely. I got in and thought that this had started just a year or so ago but apparently it had been going on for a lot longer.

What company do you work for? Parson's? Wabtec? I believe we report to Parsons when there are PTC issues.

Small world indeed. It is crazy how you go to a building like that and you can walk past people from 10 different companies just going to your office...
Yeah I never got out much.

While I AINT thrilled about the no pay raise, I am not too irked by the offer to have free healthcare for my whole family (me) and the 2.25x holiday rate and the 12+ OT hours a week make it about tolerable.

Oh yeah, and for the first time, my Dental insurance pays for my ENTIRE cleaning twice a year apparently. I have NEVER seen that before. Kiewit chose a winner there...

There might be an opening that will be unsolicited (invite only) but I am waiting to hear back from another calguns member before I open it up. When they fire me I will announce an opening as well, but I hope I do not get fired or banned anytime soon. I think I am finally able to juggle 3 items at once, working on 4 items next, plus one of our Network Specialists is just amazing at his Excel skills... I mean, I know I made a coloring book using Excel, but clearly he is burning his thrusters at a 400+ speed and is miles ahead of me (trying to catch him).

I never knew you can make Excel parse through a 25MB txt file and pull out data and arrange it and format it so nicely. People like this is who I like to be around.- NOHOMO.

Excel is a great tool for preparing and moving data from legacy systems that are severely lacking in any type of toolset or export feature.

I am thinking that excel is a very underrated tool...

I swear we only need Outlook, Excel and Notepad++ to do about 99% of the things we do...

I think I missed the part that says what part of Cali this job is located.

A little bird whispered where and it's at least a 2 hours commute. Oh well...
