FFL's with High Capacity Magazine Permit & CCW

As a FFL most of us have a high capacity magazine permit do conduct our daily business. Is there a penal code relating to individuals with the high capacity magazine permit and the ability to purchase and carry them personally? Also anything related to CCW carry of these magazines to individuals with both permits? I appreciate anything people have already dealt with weather Sheriff, DOJ opinions etc.... or the actual penal code of course if there is anything that specific. Thanks

If you Legally have a standard Cap Mag you can use it.

Just be mindful of AW laws. As your High Cap Permit dose not let you put a 30 in a BB AR.

You don't need a HCP or a FFL to CCW a legally owned +10 round mag.

So if I personally purchase a handgun with over 10 round mags I don't need to block them and I can carry it on my ccw with over 10 rounds. Is there any supporting documentation. I believe it's probably true but I would rather have the penal code or opinion printed out in case

How is your FFL structured? If your name is not on your FFL then it isn't on your HCMP.

If so then you sold a gun with high capacity magazines to someone not permitted.

That's about as clear as I can ask.
break it down, can you buy, from yourself, that off roster handgun in SSE? Yes.
can you buy, from yourself, those 10+ round mags? Yes.
can you add that SSE'd handgun to your CCW? Depends on the LEA.
can you carry those 10+ round mags in your CCW handgun? the large-cap laws and the CCW laws don't prohibit it.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

As a side jack regarding SSE pistols, has anyone ever thought of "re-registering" the pistol to your self with current caliber info to update AFS? Yeah, it'll cost you $19 but for those of you that want to carry your SSE this would get the correct barrel length, caliber, and type of pistol corrected.

I'm referring to the vol registration form (vs DROS again):

It might or might not work. I spoke with DOJ a month or two ago and found out that they keep a historical record of all transactions which go through the DROS system.

people were doing that a couple months ago but I read recently that someone had their volreg returned with the uncashed check and a note from Kamala Harris that this form was not for "correcting" the AFS records for a gun you own, but to register a gun that was not acquired through an FFL.

If that's the case then should we be SSE'ing pistols with barrel inserts with both barrel insert caliber AND original caliber? Similar to rifles that are marked 223/5.56?

We've been doing that since day 1.

DOh! Do you mark your 4473 as .25/<original caliber> as well? Fortunately, I've only done a few so I can make the DROS corrections as necessary.

Do you list the 2nd barrel length in the comments section?

Yes I mark the DROS as .25/? and in the DES system I put .25acp as the first caliber and then whatever the true caliber is as the second.

Thanks, looks like there's a couple corrections I need to make.
