10. ACQUISITION TRANSACTIONS
OVERVIEW
Acquisition transactions are required for Firearms dealers, Secondhand dealers, or Pawnbrokers to report information regarding the acquisition of a firearm to the DOJ. When you log into the DES application, the system checks for an active Firearms Dealer, Secondhand Dealer, or Pawnbroker license and displays the appropriate acquisition types for for selection:
• All Firearms dealers have access to the Buy transaction type.
• Secondhand dealers have access to the Buy and Consignment transaction types.
• Pawnbrokers have access to the Buy, Consignment, and Pawn transaction types.


Not buying from the customer, therefore FDAS wouldn't be utilized for this transaction.
