    Ammo stolen off front porch

Had a package of ammo dropped off from UPS yesterday. How do i know it was stolen? Have the kid on camera with a pretty good picture of him. Bought the ammo from USA Midway. What is my course of action? Is the vendor responsible for reimbursement?

I installed security cameras about 4 years ago because of a crazy neighbor.

The rules are if they do not require signature, then it wasn't delivered. That is why I default to signature confirmation and you accept all liability if you waive signature confirmation.

So Midway should take care of it, unless you waived signature confirmation.

Hope you made a police report too.
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.

I would call the police and get something on paper, just to cover your tail.

UPS dropped my ammo last week on my loading dock in East LA. I gave him a long talking to the next day and called ups LA.

The only place I've ever ordered from online was Cabella's, and they sent it "Signature Required." I thought they all did that to verify age.

I have always ordered online ammo signature required from AmmoMan, PSA, and J&G and every time I found it left on my front porch. No indication from the delivery company that they ever tried to get my signature. Never a knock on my door, nor was the doorbell ever used. In my old neighborhood, packages lasted only minutes on the porch before they were stolen, so I always used the "signature required" option. I am lucky enough now to live in an area where this isn't a problem, but I don't understand why they never ask for a signature.

The kid was unlikely to know it is ammo, but now he knows, and now he knows by deduction that you likely have firearms. Which means, be careful and keep things locked up tight.

I'd report this to the Po Po, the seller, and UPS...all will have an interest in getting the kid.

Yeah, I would watch out because they kid that stole it knows you have gun, and even if he isn't willing to go after them, someone he tells might be.

There has been a rash of this going on. These lowlifes follow the UPS trucks around and will steal packages that get left on the front porch....

I don't know if this is the right forum or not but I just picked up a bunch of ammo and need to dump it quickly. Anyone interested?

Just kidding! USPS left a handgun shipment on my porch the other day but it was the shippers fault because he didn't request signature or any other tracking. And it was an FFL! I didn't complain much to him because he wouldn't have heeded my advice if he was dumb enough to send it no signature in the first place.

I believe the shipper will take care of it..they will likely be reimbursed from by the shipping insurance if they got it.
