If there is a problem Tim will take care of it. I have consigned lots of guns and done countless ppt at his store and always received great service.

In reading your story, it really seems like you are going overboard on your claims. Either you have had really good luck or this really isn't the worst gun business you have ever done.

Did you check your address on the consignment form? Perhaps there was a typo or it was hard to read. If he sent the check and it has not arrived, then he needs to check to make sure that the check was not actually cashed already.

Yes of course I made sure the address is right. I've only been into guns for about 6 years. This has been my worst dealing including online vendors. Your right, I have been lucky.

Guy doesnt pick it up until late Sept. I wasnt given an exact date of the pickup, But i called him 9/27/12 to ask about it, whereas he told me its been picked up (he said it was picked up not too long ago, so it was NOT on 9/27 that the rifle was picked up from what Tim told me.) and he will be sending me the money. Mind you i had to call him to ask about it, not ONCE did I RECEIVE a call from the owner - even when he told me he would call me.

Well here we are 10/10 just checked my mail box (after 3 weeks of calling him every thursday about the rifle.) and still nothing. Tomorrow (10/11/12) will be another thursday I will have to call if my money doesnt show up.

You said that you would be out of town, so do you think it would be a good idea for the check to be sent to you until you called to let Tim know that you returned?

Let's look at the calendar. You said you called on 27-Sep and today is 11-Oct, which makes it 14 days. You posted this yesterday, so it was not even two weeks, yet you claim it has been three weeks that you have been calling. You said that you were calling him every thursday, which means that if what you said was true, you called him ONCE, but for some reason it seems that you want to make it sound like you are calling more and that more times has gone by. Why is that?

Based solely on your statements, it seems that there are some issues with what you are saying. That tends to make your other statements suspect as well.

I've been calling him every Thursday to stay connected with Tim. A friendly "hey I'm haven't forgotten and still want to know whats going on." After I've been told he will contact me when it sells and is picked up. 927 marks the beginning in the period he said the money will be sent out. There is no justification for it taking this long and you know that. Unless there was some sort of emergency there is none. It doesn't take that long to send a check out regardless of what dates or what I throw at you. If you notice I said 3 weeks of calling ABOUT the rifle. And also. I said I would be out of town 7/27. It's 10/11. I haven't been out of town that long. Yes I probably should of mentioned that but I figured people wouldn't think I would be gone for 2 months. I also never mentioned to Tim I was going to be out of town.

Why don't you just ask him to put a stop payment on the check, and then you can personally go pick it up.

So after another day of not receiving the check, I called fort courage. Mike answered the phone and dealt with it in a good manner, but I was disappointed when they were asking me how much my rifle, which they sold for me, was purchased for.

When I got there Tim handed it to me and said "I thought I told my wife to send it." The check was dated for today which leads me to the question how can he tell his wife to send a check in the past if it is dated for today?

All in all I got my money, but I'm done with their business. I wish you guys best of luck dealing with fort courage, but I will no longer be dealing with fort courage in the future

I once had a check take 45 days to travel 45 miles across LA. Client mailed it on time (envelope was postmarked 45 days prior to arrival). So stuff does happen when USPS is involved. I've always had good dealings with Tim and Ft. Courage Armory, but I can understand your frustration and position.

It seems like you want to attack due to what you feel were the wrongs done against you.

Read exactly what you wrote, "I thought I told my wife to send it.", then you attack him based on the check date. He said that he thought he told his wife to send it. If he got busy and did not tell her or she got busy and didn't get it sent out, then that would explain the date of the check, wouldn't it? But not to you, it has to be some big plot to keep the money from you.

While you might have some valid concerns, I personally think that you are going overboard and are far too interested in attacking a business, rather than being fair. Perhaps Tim needs to work on some issues, but I don't believe you based on your own conflicting statements.

Stating "I thought my wife sent the check..." Is suspect and sounds more like a lie than the truth.
The OP has the right to share his customer experience, maybe not the norm but none the less his experience.
