    Tax on PPT?

I did look at the stickies and tried a search but did not find this question although it's hard to imagine it hasn't been asked and answered. That said....

If two of us walk into a local store that does PPT's and do a PPT, is the store required to ask for evidence of sale amount and collect sales and excise tax?

I did a PPT last year but don't recall being charged tax.

We did our transaction. Money exchanged at the bank. We just walked in to the gun store and asked to do a PPT. There was no discussion of price or tax.
