    11% Nonsense apply to PPT?

Not having the best answer from a couple others...need clarification re the new 11% Tax on PPT.

I have been told by my FFL that the tax does not apply?

I have been told by Lock, Stock and Barrel SIMI VALLEY the tax applies?

We do not charge the 11% on face to face ppt's. LSB may be charging on their auction ppt's since they are actively involved in the sale.

Thank you guys for the clarification/info. I kinda thought that but asked anyways.

Looks like Gov Guberson gets his wish.

Giving us pause (at what price becomes not worth it) on firearm sales and more money to throw away on his overspending useless programs and feel good about stuff we doing such a great job.

I just did a PPT yesterday and they do not collect it nor even ask what it was sold for. $47 and done in about 30 minutes.
Only thing I suggest would be call the FFL and see if they would likee you to make an appt for a PPT. my place is 1st come 1st served no reservations.
Also buy something as the $10 probably doesnt even cover the time for the employee.

LSB is most likely charging on the consignments that are run as PPT's in the DES system. Although processed as a PPT it is taxed because the dealer was involved with finding the buyer.

... what he said. Same as sales tax.

In the eyes of FFL, PPT is not a sale. It's a transfer between two parties, who agreed on it. FFL doesn't witness the money transfer or any other monetary supplements. There is no cost associated, thus there is no tax base to charge 11% on.

CDTFA: "Where is your receipt showing this sale? Oh you do not have one? You owe the tax on the full retail price plus penalties and interest."
FFL: "Here is the receipt for $1."
CDTFA: "That is fraudulent. You still owe full retail price plus penalties and interest."

Sorry, your transfer fees are not worth me accepting your tax liability. Not that there is any in PPTs, but for regular transfers.

I believe that buying retail in CA., ammo or guns its 11% added on to sale. Pure bull****. Damn CA.
